Yes, he said he can pick locks.

He never said he was any good at it though.

My Zevran can pick locks...since my Rogue doesn't have any lockpicking skill, he is my dedicated lockpicker. Works out well, he can pick any lock.

It's not his fault you didn't put the appropriate points towards his lockpicking.

Leliana is my lock-picker if I'm not playing a rogue.

Yes it's not cool his default build doesn't have any lockpicking, all the lockpicking affair seems quite a bug.

What? Zev is an awesome lockpicker! just ask to see his probe and he will happily insert it into your lock and wiggle it around a bit until everything is nice and open.

I thought that was his "control rod"

lol Zevran. I thought he was funny, but he didn't get much playtime. With all 4 of my characters I took Leliana as my lover so she got lots of playtime and consequently was my lockpicker. Zevran got his lockpicking because I wasn't sure what else to spend his points on, and too many melee DPS is bad news. Unless they're warriors. Then it's so on.

I always play a Rogue, I played as a warrior once and didnt like it. I played as a Rogue in Oblivion too. I just prefer them.

When I played as my warrior I used Leliana as my lock picker.

Is that any reason for not having two rogues? beyond you must have 1 warrior, 1 rogue, 1 magi outdated mindset from d&d?? myself find Zevran/Leliana very *different* builds in same class.

With Zevran, pump dex / DW he acually makes a decent tank. With leliana ranged arrow of slaying.
In my recent rogue game, iam in Zevran's role with high defense. Id take two rogues over a meat shield any day - someone will always be backstabbing, twice the dirty fighting.

Magi's may have Manaclash but that doesnt do much vs heavy melee. I pick off magi's with slaying.
Morrigan + wynne sit at the camp.

No need for Taunt since someone will land a dirty fighting stun on the target. Overwhelm also gets interupted.
Both have amusing banters, event at the pearl - so clearly bioware thought of this too. Image IPB

Well, he was trying to convince you NOT to kill him. He failed with me, but maybe you should have had a bit of a better intuition.

Yeah, it makes little sense that a rogue assassin wouldn't be able to pick locks.

What if his target locked him/herself away? Or perhaps him needing to sneak into places?

Would he politely ring the bell? Give the butler his card? Ask courteously to be let in to kill, because he has a job to do?

Anyway, Zevran will get the lock-pick skill all the time. He's an awesome fighter if spec'd DW/rogue. My party goes mage-less a lot (unless my PC is a mage), and my PC doesn't need a meat-shield. They are mage, a DPS DW warrior, the other an archer rogue.

Yes, I have only three PCs. I'm also only in the middle of my 3rd play-through. What can I say, I'm a very slow player. I have to go everywhere and see everything, and I'm still finding new things, so I don't want to miss out.

I swear, Bioware must suck at actually playing this game. Seriously. They completely screw up stat allocation. It isn't even okay, just terrible (loghain). And they give you the worst skills.

Can't Zevran come with say, Coup De Grace, Momentum, Combat Stealth and Deft Hands? Why not Bioware, must you gimp our characters, for fear of making them overpowered?

Zevran will never....

  • Give you up
  • Let you down
  • Run around
  • Desert you
He may, however, lie to you.

Haha, funny because in my game he did all of the above!! Allthough he didn't make me cry or hurt me.

Yep false advertisement to save his life.

I bet he cant even give a decent massage, tell a good joke or play cards.

At least he can learn so we can eventually get the religious crackpot of the active team.

I've watched him excel at a card game, and the anecdotes he's told were funny enough. So that covers those two.

As for the massage... I keep telling him I don't swing that way. *shrugs*
