I did Jacob for my first romance, but I will definitely try for Tali at least once. Maybe Thane, too.

Legion's romance would be hilarious, though.

For romance - Garrus. It's been a long time and countless fanfics coming.

For general conversation and freindship - Tie between Mordin and Legion.

Tali for me. I liked her in ME1 but she wasn't a love interest so I didn't see her in a romantic light really. But just how she acts and sounds is so adorable. The paragon hug interrupt is probably the most touching moment in the game next to when shepard takes off her helmet and kinda just looks at her with a little smile for a second. Atleast for me anyways. She is by far my favorite character in the game, can't wait to continue it in Mass Effect 3. I'm gonna have a hard time not choosing Tali on my other characters. haha

Also Jack really surprised me. Before it came out I hated her, much like someone earlier said. She developed into a great character and her romance scene was great. But I have yet to it in the game yet, I watched the Jack scene on youtube.

Edit: Also I loved Tali's little comment after you finish the game. About how she has a fever and her sinuses are congested but that it was tottally worth it. I couldn't help but smile.

Garrus is amazing as a romance option because it's very touching, sad and reveals a completely other side of him.

Tali is also amazing, because it actually feels like a romance instead of "Oh Shepard, you're hot. Let's bang."

The awkward 16 year old sounding side lol.

By the way when Mordin explains to Shepard that Turian semen is acidic to make sure you dont *awkward cough* "ingest" i almost shot coke out of my nose.

Garrus. Although his romance started out a little too "friends with benefits"-ish for my tastes, it turned out to be really really sweet.

Good stuff Bioware - though you had better not do anything terrible to her in the 3rd game - I would be gutted!

I would cry if they somehow screw that up [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png[/smilie]

Knowing Bioware, they may gut you (us).

I am glad I am not alone here.

Bioware should be proud of themselves - I can honestly say this is the first time I have genuinley cared for a character in a video game. I think this is more of a leap forward into "next gen" gaming than anything else I have seen.

All the romances are well done, though Jacob dissapointed me. It seemed more lust than love. <_<

Tali and Jack are my favorite though. They seemed the most genuine and romantic. Jack didn't at first, but in the end when she completely let down her guard and opened up was A Crowning Moment of Heartwarming. Especially the love scene when she starts crying. Totally worth it.

I'm such a sap.

Just like a Big Damn Hero. :D

I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. Firefly ftw.

For FemShep: Garrus. The story could have been a poorly written romance, and I'd still go heads over heels for Garrus. I just love that adorkable turian to death and I was left absolutely speechless when I found out that players could romance him. And the ending was very, very endearing. It's cute to see him all flustered in making things right for the one person he respects most in the galaxy. I suppose it is also worth mentioning that I have sore weakness for the highly-loyal-comitted-sidekick types.

For MaleShep: Jack. My ManShep loves a challenge. I also liked his reaction to Tali's advances.

Definitely Miranda. I kissed her in her office. It was this spontaneous thing and she goes "What the hell was that?". It was such a flirty and satisfying scene. I didn't have to shower her with compliments about "admiring her body" either, which I didn't really like.

its a tie between Tali or Ash. My femshep sees Tali as the geeky little sister, and Ash as a student/teacher sorta thing...

Tali's 24 and Ash is 27 in ME2. Shepard's 31....and been through more so she's got some wisdom to pass on

I chose Tali, and it was totally worth it.

I really hope they keep her in ME3, and I hope that continuing relationships into the next game is handled much differently than it was in ME2.

I hope she's a squad member, but it doesn't look like she will. All characters from ME2 are... "Optional," so to speak. By this, I mean that they're not guaranteed to be there until the end of the game. She could've died in the suicide mission. I don't know if she'll be available in the next game because of this.

However, I hope Bioware moves past that. I hope getting my entire team really pays off in the next game, especially in Tali's case.

Maybe it could be your LI joining up, be it from the first game(if you didn't move on and stayed loyal), or from the second game(Lookin' at you, Tali). I believe that this is how it should be handled, giving an opportunity for further interaction with your LI.

it is weird to say this but Tali - a fictional character in a video game, kept me up last night just thinking about it. No other video-game or book characters have done that to me. (a few movies have).

there is a lot to like about her, liked her since the first Mass Effect game.

would really like to see what she looks like underneath that mask. hopefully for the third part in the trilogy.

First Game - no romance

Second Game - romance, just a smile and nod when the game shepherd (not the player shepherd) see's her face.

Third Game - get to see her face and continue romance.

I really wonder how Mass Effect 3 will handle who lives and how dies? and i think Tali (assuming she lives) will be an auto-squad member now,

1. Fans - Tali fans dominate the forums, Bioware guys/gals know this all too well.

2. She may still have ties to the fleet, but she's got a long history with you know - especially if she is a love interest.

I think all love interests have the potential of coming back and would up the ante of the finale. like the guys at Bioware were saying, making sure that the love interest in the first game doesn't die in the second game.

However i wonder how they'll handle the LI's in the second game for the ending, there 6, now add 3 from ME1. that is a lot of character's to manage that the player could of taken on. Maybe they'll make some joinable and others will not be.

like Thane being dead from his illness, or Garrus deciding to go back to his life as a vigilante, or perhaps even Tali returning to the fleet (though from the way her side mission ends, regardless of how it plays out) she wouldn't.

----------

As for interesting relationships, i give that nod to

Tali

Mordin, (funny at times, love the 'i'm on speed' way of speaking)

Legion (feel like i'm dealing with the enemy at every moment)

Tali. I mean come on, the way bioware did the character, it feels like she's 100% real. She actually cares about people, and she doesn't just come on to you. You have to continuely talk to her and get to know her. In my opinion she is the best done character in the game so far.

I went with Jack. You can "change" Jack and make her not quite so much of an ass, and the pre-suicide-mission approach by her is sorta an "awww, she's a softie... sorta" moment.
