- I was shocked at the Collectors taking over the Normandy, totally unprepared for that. Being Joker and seeing a woman get pulled by her hair (as a PP mentioned) omfg, totally gave me chills..right out of a horror film.  I was also upset that everyone gets taken from my ship..with the exception of Joker. Dang. Wow.

- I'll admit, I was pissy at Dr. Chawkwa saying "Why couldn't you get here sooner!" I was thinking ORLY? I just got Legion killed, the only geth worth talking to and Yeoman whatsherface just got dissolved into genetic material and you're going to complain? ugh LOL. Very emotional moment, I was upset I couldn't save more of my Normandy crew in that cutscene.

1 - The woman getting dragged was Yeoman Kelly.

2 - If you got there sooner, the entire crew would've been saved! D:

ROFL!!!
The saving the entire crew thing is hilarious b/c if that is in fact the truth, she had every right to be pissed off at me..I went SHOPPING after the crew got captured LOL.
I did so to ensure I had as many upgrades as I could get weapon wise, but didn't find much, I did everything to the hilt pretty much prototype wise and upgrades to the ship but I was paranoid lol..next time I will save my entire crew ugh, I guess I won't have to see Yeoman Kelly processed into genetic mush again then?
I FAIL lol../sigh.

Kelly doesn't melt, it's instead the Colonist that was talking to Ashley / Kaidan on Horizon.

Probably Tali's loyalty mission and your ability to comfort her. Very moving stuff. Very well written.

The oxygen tank is broken, he's trying to keep air in his helmet.

+ Since he's exposed to space, he's freezing.
+ Since he's caught in a planet's gravitational pull, he's pretty much on fire.

He was trying to cover the leak, pretty sure taking off the helmet would have made things worse;)

Seeing Kelly being dragged by the hair, screaming her lungs out, made me almost sick to my stomach.

Oh yeah, horrible scene. Image IPB

Every Tali mission, Miranda's mission, The suicide mission, Garrus getting shot at the start of the game. I started the suicide mission once, and I had tali be my tech specialist. I thought everyone would be fine since they were all loyal. Then bam. On misstep and she was gone from Shepard forever. I stood up and shouted "TALLLLIII!!!! NOOOOO!" I shut down and had to restart. I couldn't live with that. Then Garrus got shot as my squad leader. I thought he was dead. Then he shook it off and was ready to go. And the entire ending run. I thought I was gonna miss the Normandy.

And finally, after the mission, I feel an empty void. I miss Kelly telling me i have a message. But it feels so real, like someone i knew died.

When Tali and Shepard first talk about there feelings for each other. Taking each others hands infront of the core. I was done for there and then, Tali forever.

-Kaidan. Seeing him on Horizon, the way he looks at you right before he hugs you, and how he hugs you... just wow. Then the e-mail made me want to hug him so badly.

-The romance scene with Jack and Thane at the end, I didn't play either, but I saw them. Just wow.

-When Tali finds her father and starts breaking down, then you hug her. And when you do the hardcore paragon defense of her to the admiralty board.

-Thane was the one who was falling off the platform at the end and Shepard caught him, I was freaking out when I thought he was gonna fall.

EDIT:  -When Shepard looks at the picture of Kaidan right before the final mission.  I thanked Bioware audibly for the nod.

Oh yeah, the team member falling, definitely. I kind of wish it was Garrus because I was doing the romance, but it ended up being Jack, which was kind of nice too since it just cements the fact that Shep will be there for her. Closed up her story much better than just the 'I'm done talking to you now' you get from her.

everything said above, plus reading navigator pressley's datapad at the Normandy Crash Site. It was kinda anti-alien at first, and then a few entries later he said he would die for any one of them. I teared up. Actually the whole crash site was sort of emotional.

Despite all of the haters and nay-sayers that are posting around here, I think if Bioware has been able to actually touch this many people on an emotional level, to create an actual emotional attachment to their characters, they deserve some serious congratulations. Well done Bioware, you've done what, in my opinion, few (or perhaps no) other game producers have achieved before. Keep up the good work, and keep the content coming!

When you see the collector general wake up from being posessed. Sending you the blue prints of the reapers right before being killed in the blast.

Absolutely!

This is something I wrote on another thread on that very subject -

I am glad I am not alone here.

Bioware
should be proud of themselves - I can honestly say this is the first
time I have genuinley cared for a character in a video game. I think
this is more of a leap forward into "next gen" gaming than anything
else I have seen.

And for me, one of the most emotional aspects was the whole Tali relationship

(sorry again for the repost from another thread!)

"I have always found "interactive" love affairs in games to be universally cringe-worthy and ridiculous.

Tali changes all of this.

Pursuing the Tali romance offers up a touching, original and well acted series of scenes between the two of you, the final love-scene is subtle and underplayed and I approve of Bioware's decision to leave Tali's face a mystery for now.

Tali was my favourite team-mate from the original and thus the relationship felt like a natural evolution of a friendship between two people, rather than a tacked on after-thought.

I thought her shyness was well acted and played in stark contrast to the usually aggressive sexual self-confidence often exhibited by female characters in games.

Finally, the fact that I felt a genuine affection for a video game character whose face I had never seen and whose circumstances lead to a rather original sexual tension through our inability to actually touch due to her suit, was rather remarkable.

Good stuff Bioware - though you had better not do anything terrible to her in the 3rd game - I would be gutted!"

For me it was at the end. When the Reaper terminated control of the collector general. I played as a renegade, and in that mindset not a lot of the other stuff bothered me because Renegade Shepard doesn't do sympathy.

I saw the light go out in that thing's eyes, and for a moment you can see it all hits the poor doomed creature. It wants to do something to save itself. It's had no control for so long, It gets it back for a moment in it's own mind. Just in time to realize there is nothing it can do, but die.

Tragic, epic, very powerful scene

Oh god, the opening scene where the Normandy is blown up and Shep goes out into space. I was chuckling to myself and saying good ol' Normandy. My ship. Then they blew it up and I was like OMFG and my jaw was wide open. I couldn't believe it. I was shocked.

Also, the end scene where Tali almost slides off of the platform. I was like OMG NOOOOO!!!!

One of the most emotional moments was when Thane broke down and cried. His animations/facial expressions were really superb and compelling.

Yes, this.  Tali was far and away my favorite character in the first game and in the second my single goal was to find her and start a relationship so that I got the maximum Tali time in the game.  I had her in every single mission.

For me when Shep was dying in space at the very beginning, just watching him float peacefully and quietly away with his gasping breath in the background.

The final mission, the first time, not knowing who to send on what mission. I knew it was a risk, but having romanced Tali I refused to send her as the tech specialist and watched Moridin fall. Then I had Grunt lead the other distraction team and how he gasped out he had a good fight before finally collapsing. Man.

Then when I saw Tali slipping down after the Reaper, I was two seconds from throwing my headphones at my monitor. Thanks for not forcing my hand!

Um, seeing Garrus get hit by that helicopter after I had refused to sabotage the helicopter. I felt like I had completely let him down and if I had made the other choice it would have kept him from being shredded like that. I literally questioned that decision through the entire rest of the game.

Giving the order to Kaiden to get into the shuttle and Shep dying in the beginning certainly set the tenor of the game.

Brandy with Dr. Chawkas

Garrus lying in a pool of blood after getting shot by the gunship.

Meeting Wrex - "Shepard! My friend!" That was so awesome.

The message from the Rachni Queen.

Meeting Kaiden on Horizon - like someone else mentioned, its the way he looks at you before he hugs you. Thats powerful.

Hugging Tali when you find her father.

Hugging Liara and then later when she explains why she hates the Shadow Broker and you tell her you aren't mad at her.

Playing Joker - watching the crew get hauled away.

Looking at Kaiden's photo before going through the relay.

Thane's romance scene was powerful.

The whole end was tense. Thankfully no one died. But there seemed to be so many close calls.

When Harbinger releases the Collector at the very end -- it looks so sad and confused. :(
