Cerberus , the word it self is a reference to a 3 headed dog guarding the entrance to Hades realm.

From that i am starting to belive that the illusive man, might be the leader or a co ally with the reaper ..

in some way at least. I expect him to play a large role in ME 3, i might be mistaken ofcourse.

Why would he give Shepard all those resources, send him to destroy the Reaper's servants (Collectors) and all around fight them if he was allied with them? Wouldn't it have been much easier to simply devote those resources to killing the only person who could foil their plans, Shepard, rather than setting him up for a massive betrayal?

Renegade Shepard's eyes are scarier.

I was thinking quite the opposite. The guard to hell and whatnot (really, Hades) made me think that he, realizing the danger posed by the reapers, may have created this organization to guard the Mu relay - as well as the citadel. They are both gateways, of sorts, to the creatures comparable to daemons. As the job of Cerberus was to prevent those creatures from escaping Hades, I was kind of fond of this idea. Proximity to such and the desperation of being seemingly the only person so focused would cause some moral oversight, surely.

There's no way Cerberus will ally with the Reapers. That's just idiotic. They spent billions of credits reviving the person with the best chance of stopping him, then more giving him an amazing ship... then they change their minds?

I have to agree with Kit-Kat-Kun. Why bother even bringing Shepard back to life? Why waste all those resources for Shepard to build a squad to stop the Collectors?

Udina is a reaper. FACT.

Thats why he acts so surprised to see Shepard on the Citadel.

nah, he's not a good guy, but I don't think he'd be behind killing humans

The Illusive Man is just that, a man. And what is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets! But enough talk, have at you!

But, seriously, the Illusive Man doesn't even matter any more. My Shep took over Cerberus. Done deal.

I think this is the whole "take your two biggest threats and have them wipe each other out" thing. TIM probably just wants the reapers' tech without the reapers or shep to get in the way.

I believe that the illusive man wanted to use the reaper technology to not only stop the reapers, but dominate every other species in the galaxy. I believe illusive man is not just pro human, but a human supremacist.

Good thing I kept that data about Cerberus for myself. I'm sure it'll pay off in the future.

The Illusive man is a powerful xenophobe who should be stopped but I think he does mean well for humanity at least.

I know it's composed of rumor/public knowledge instead of facts but the Codex says they were "a Cerberus to guard against invasion through the Charon relay" after the First Contact War.  Doesn't mean it can't have other meanings too though I guess.

Actually, Cerberus is a reference to their role of guarding the Charon relay near Pluto, i.e. safeguarding humanity's safety.

Yea i think the illsuive man is playing the right cards and probarly are as we think. But what will he bring in ME 3 , i wonder. Im just captivated by the fact we never meet him face to face and that his office is so secret. But Miranda has meet him tough, (remember the start of the game)

well think about it, Cerberus is a 3 headed dog that guards the gates of hell, it was said that Ceberus had 3 different cells that exist however didn't know one another. It wouldn't make sense to the idea of the Illusive man siding with the reapers, being organic and controlling it would violate the code of human interest (which it seams are being followed at all costs).

Cerberus seams to be more an organization that seeks control rather than anything else, the organization thats restricted by none and would bite at any enemy or friend if they get to close.

its pretty straight forward actually. the illusive man just wants to rule the universe. every single mission log proves all hes interested in is acquiring powerful tech and allies in his run up to take over the galaxy.

I dont think the reapers are the real threat, but the illusive man getting his hands on the reaper tech and taking over the galaxy. ME 3 will end with the reapers and citadel being destroyed. Cerebus will rise to power and shep will have to battle them in the next trilogy. GUARANTEED

EDIT: Hades is NOT just hell. Hades is where the dead go. Heroes have their own section, heaven if you will, rank and file have a purgatory, and the evil have hell. Cerebus guards all of these places, not just hell.

Why else would he want shepard to save the collector base, I mean that request is just unreasonable.

Symphony of the Night. <3

Illusive Man has more to him I'm sure, but I don't think it involves a silly twist involving him working for the Reapers. It's completely senseless, really.

Its not unresonable at all. The collector base can provide tech that's needed to destroy the reapers, since it was created by the collectors(who are controlled by reapers) its basicly reaper tech.
