In ME1 I romanced and "saved" Ashley. Should I stay loyal to her, or is Miranda a much better option? How far do I have to get with Miranda before the game recognizes that I've cheated on Ashley? Just so I know where to create an new save.
There's a thread around here somewhere where the OP nails it I think. I mean yeah you can play it anyway you want, there's no wrong answer. But I think BioWare has got a brilliant piece of writing here. The "love" of your life (Ash/Kaiden) has turned their back on you for now, you've all this other tail hanging around giving you doe eyes, it's real test if you want to go the monogamist route.
I romanced Ashley as a ParaShep in ME1, and will be turning down the other LI's until ME3. Even though hot damn, Miranda's got it going on.

Thanks Echo for actually responding. I don't really understand all the "just choose" responses. My main question is how far alog can you get with Miranda before it "recognizes" that you've cheated on Ashley? That way I can save right before that point/experience it/and decide where to go from there. I don't really want to playthrough a whole new game, just to make one choice.
How is that your main question? First thing you asked is " Should I stay loyal to her, or is Miranda a much better option?"
Well...it comes down to...who do you like more? We can't tell you who to like...

Miranda was an egotistical Cerberous drone.
Tough choice.

lulz, you got their characters completely wrong. You obviously did not delve into their characters AT ALL. I JUST beat the game with Miranda as my romance, and she couldn't be farther from an "egotistical Cerberus drone."

Seriously, you're starting to sound kinda trollish. I liked Ashley in ME1, that's why I romanced her. I like Miranda in ME2, but I'm carrying over from ME1. I'd like to do abit of seeing how Miranda is, but I don't want to get too far along and not like the outcome; then have to start all over to stay loyal. Same goes with Jack. I'm asking how do you know when the right moment to save is before the game "recognizes" a new love interest. I'm not/don't really have the time to play through 3 storylines to figure out which one I'm going to go with. I don't play these games in a "true" role playing way, where I imagine myself as the character and have to make "real life" decisions. That's what the save function is for.shinobi602 wrote...

Miranda exsplains why she joined Ceberus, and it has nothing to do with Humans first. Ash was the one who complained about all of the aliens on Normandy almost everytime you talked to her. Still to each their own which is what makes ME great.

Well sir, you are then missing the entire point of the game. That is NOT what the save function is for.

Don't be so sensitive. I don't care if you think I'm trollish, whatever you want to think, that's fine. I'm in the same position, I really like both Ashley and Miranda, but I'm doing two seperate playthroughs for both of them, one staying loyal to Ash, and the other having a romance with Miranda.
I said no offense, I didn't mean it seriously. Just saying, it's the easiest solution.

Maybe not to you, but games like this where a moral choice must be made, I use them that way. I don't have the luxury of doing multiple playthroughs as there are other games coming out, or time spent on other things. If you do/dedicate your time to replaying the same game over again to see all the different outcomes then kudos to you. I however do 1-2 playthroughs usually as a Paragon, then a Renegade and that's it.ljd121879 wrote...

I don't get what anyone sees in the ashley romance that is so great. The only reason I would consider ashley over miranda is if the choice was forced on me by something like removing miranda from the third game, the character development than miranda goes through is on a whole other level from ashley's development in ME1 and 2 put together.. mostly because I don't see any development in ashley at all. And if something like that did happen, I would probably just ignore the romance subplot altogether.
Ashley really opened up and changed her views on things if you kept at it and paragoned the whole way, which is what made it worth it to me. She's also the character that felt the most realistic in my opinion, like I was actually in a relationship...

I actually like Liara better in the sequel than I do Ashley, since she has actually evolved as a character. Ashley is basically the exact same person we met on Eden Prime.
