You can always go to Tuchanka and bet on Varren pit fights, I guess. >.>

I think a lot of it has to do with how many upgrades you buy rather than research yourself. I was always coming up short on the platium or whatever...

Yeah, but I'm gearing everyone up for a suicide mission you know? I'm not complaining that I can't buy my favorite videogame at the game store on the Citadel or dirty magazines on Omega; I just want a biotic attack upgrade.SunfighterG8 wrote...

Seriously. I was in Nassana Dantius's corporate tower at one point; surely I could have just wired myself a couple billion credits from her personal computer?
Or I could have sold some of my crew to the Druuge; they're all Cerberus anyway and I don't like them. Oops! Wrong game.

I was able to buy everything and upgrade everyone. I did with the ME1 import and already completing ME2 bonus. I hacked everything with no failures. I did do all the side missions including going to every planet trying to find those missions. When I completed I had all of 5000 credits left... or near that.

Yeah I actually just started another playthrough with a different ME1 import and noticed that I started with 300,000+ credits so I suppose I'll be able to buy everything this time.
Also, I thought that the upgrades you bought at the store still had to be researched on the normandy to actually get them, like when you pick one up on a mission you still have to research it. I figured that if I didn't but the ones in the store I just wouldn't get them, since they're not random drops theres only a fixed number of them that you can pick up on missions. Right?

What I found annoying was that you could still buy upgrades even if you already found them. I did that a bunch of times because I didn't know that I had maxed out something already. It would be nice if Bioware fixed that.
I worried about this.
I also assume once you buy an item, you can still find it.
I may hold off buying from any of the kiosks until near then end of the game.

In any case, do you really need *all* pistol AND smg AND shotgun AND assault rifle AND sniper rifle AND biotics AND tech AND heavy weapons AND kinetic barrier AND medigel upgrades? (In the unlikely case that the answer is "yes" there's always gibbed...)

Or just use Gibbed and cheat.

it seems like there should be enough money in the game to buy everything without having to be absolutely perfect with hacking.
Why? I thought ME1 was a little ridiculous with how plentiful money was. It completely sucked all the fun out of getting new and better gear when it was readily available to be bought up the second I found someone selling it. I thought DA:O handled it a LOT better, where even if you focus on making as much money as possible, you can depend on two things: you won't NEED to buy anything to have good odds at the end, and you won't be ABLE to buy anywhere near everything unless you cheat big time.

AFAIK, you get a discount from her when you do Conrad Verner's side quest (must have treated him right in ME1 for him to even appear).Bano1245 wrote...
Well you do have the discounts..I did notice that the weapons person at Illium on the bottom floor or so doesn't give a discount...that annoyed me.

Are you getting a discount at EACH store? Conrad Verner MUST survive ME1 to get the Weapons Merchant discount, Grunt's loyalty gets a discount @ Fortack's database & killing Pyjaks for Ratch, all the others are in ME2 wether or not they survived ME1. If GIanna P survived ME1 then she is worth 10 renegade IF you do bottom right and not the bottom left Renegade option and you still get the discount.
If you want to reduce the amount of minerals required for research projects then play as a Engineer (5-25% fewer required each).
