I noticed something about the romance subplot. It's actually a "spoiler" to the third game, I didn't see it mentioned but it might have been, it's a big forum.

When you finally have the option to sleep with Miranda (or I guess other characters) it actually let's you choose to say "yes, I'm ready" several times before it actually happens...but once you hit the "I can't, I'm not ready" option you can't go back and change it, you can decide to say yes, and go back and say no before it happens though. What I found was this...

If you go to your quarters there's a picture of your mate on the desk, (in my case it was Ashley) when you choose to say you're ready for Miranda and go check on your desk the picture is turned down. I think because you choose not to betray her, even though she's pissed and sent the letter with some kind of doubt of whether or not they'll still be together at the end. Obviously by not sleeping with someone else Ashley comes back to you based on the picture thing. I kinda wondered why it wasn't removed when Ashley "broke up" with Shepard. 

So what was my decision? I stayed true with "My" Shepard, but I'll certainly cheat with my others. I have a game setup for most sub-plots so I'll get all the variances.

I do want to say something else...the fact that they basically just left out the romance subplot at the end if you DIDN'T cheat was just a strange feeling. You see Ashley being saved, but you don't talk to her or even see if she's ok or anything. Bioware really makes you want to betray your significant other...but like I said I really do believe the picture thing gives it away, she'll be back for the 3rd for good.

Discuss. Also any idea if something similar happend with other romance subplots? I only pursued Miranda although I got all my conversation trees to "before sex" levels with all my characters in ME2 without noticing a picture change at all, although none of the others gives you the option of choosing to betray or not so clearly like Miranda does.
