Ya def give it a shot Yasuo - I'm betting the stuttering/temporary freezes are due to polling two different installation drives.
ME2 - Random short freezes.

Ok, i've got it all installed on my C Drive, the game itself and all the DLC, but the lagging and freezing is still happening. The Realtek High Def Audio driver is up to date as well as having that Tool you mentioned earlier.
Edit:
And my NVIDIA driver is up to date too. Even downloaded DirectX 10 to see if that'll fix things but it didn't.

Sorry to hear that. Have you checked to make sure you motherboard drivers are up to date as well? I still think it's HDD related. Might be time to purse out for a new primary drive.

I brought a new motherboard, processor, CPU fan, memory and CD drive a short time before ME2 came out. I figured it was time to update my PC in general, so where could I find motherboard drivers, if that might be the problem?

You'll need to scour the motherboard manufactures website. Question - You don't have Windows installed on separate drives as well do you?

Everything apart from movies and games are installed on my C drive. I use the external one for the said games and movies.

Okay here's a nooby question.. Updating processor/motherboard drivers are important to run games? I have -never- done that before in any game. Ever. Always only updated my video card drivers.

While some motherboard manufacturers don't release regular updates, yes it is important to make sure that you get the updates as well as install the proper motherboard drivers when doing a fresh install of windows. nForce drivers, integrated Audio drivers or ACPI drivers etc.
It's not a hard and fast rule unless you're experiencing problems as the typical Windows installed drivers could be enough but when problems arise, its more a matter of trouble shooting and making sure that the system is properly updated so it can be ruled out as part of, or solely, the problem.

Well since the ONLY thing having trouble is ME2.. It seems odd to me that it would be only that game in all of the universe, that requires it. Seems like poor coding/programming or whatever could cause it.
Im hoping whatever the patch does when it comes out, will fix it. Maybe a seemingly small issue is all that takes for it to lock up and freeze.

I tried to install new motherboard drivers, but for some reason the drivers wanted to uninstall all other NVIDIA drivers before hands, including my graphics card, bus enumerator, ethernet and more. I had to end up reusing the CD that came with my new motherboard to put things back to normal.
I feel that it's a game issue and that a patch might fix the trouble, like what Mr_Luga said.

1) How can I check which version of a MoBo driver I got?
2) Is it possible to update the MoBo driver even after win 7 is installed?
