Someone else posted a thread about this earlier, but no one is replying to it. Therefor, I'm creating a new thread.
Anyway, SPOILERS AHEAD!!

On the Derilect Reaper, during the Reaper Core battle, the game simply freezes, and crashes with the error "Mass Effect 2 has stopped working". It seems to crash most often at the end of the first wave of husks, just as the Core is opening up. I've gotten once before past the second wave of husks, but it quickly crashed soon after. Nothing can apparantly fix this, as loading a previous save (before the battle itself) does not work. Any suggestions. ALSO: I am fairly sure my system reqs are fine, as I've had little to no problems before this and its been actually working better than Mass Effect one before this, with the occasional stutter or lag.

Any ideas?

I would really like somebody to reply to this. I am having the same issues. I can't get more than a few minutes into this STORY REQUIRED MISSION without it crashing. I get a full on crash though. My screen fills with strange colors and anomolies and my sound repeats. I can't exit at all, must restart the computer. Any suggestions? It seems to only happen within this game too.

My problem with that mission is crash after i destroy praetorian armor. All 5 times I tried is same.

Destroy his armor and then restart computer. Started new character but I'm not there yet to test it.

My game was crashing during the core battle as well. I was playing in windowed mode and switching to fullscreen seemed to resolve the issue. Hope that helps.

Thanks red_satyr!

I was playing it full screen and it kept crashing so I tried playing it windowed and it didn't crash. So try switching between the two modes and see if it helps.

Uhhh..........

What do you mean by the word "crash"?

There is insufficient data to even come up with a sarcastic answer like:

The is definitely something wrong some place and you should do something to correct this.

Please consult your magic 8 ball

You should update windows, drivers, C++ libs, directx and everything else under the sun.

run prime95 and memtest86+ to verify HW

Can you please provide more details?

dxdiag

windows application log message

BSOD error codes

what is your "crash"? BSOD, CTD, lock up, system shutdown????

My games been running fine right up to the core battle and whenever I look at the core directly the video freezes but sound remains then the game crashes. Anyone have a solution? About to try switching to full screen...

EDIT: Ok I tried in fulscreen mode adn it ran smoothly with no problems at all. Hope this helps!

when i was fighting the armor it was crashing so i reinstalled the game and now its working. So maybe it would correct the reaper core problem as well?

Thats the only solution I know of right now.

Hope it helps at least a bit :D!!

I am having the exact same problem has this and I was just trying to understand how you got it to stop better. You were normally playing in window mode, when this crash happened, so you changed to full screen mode and it began to work again?

have read that this is a graphical issue related to looking directly at the core or the glowing eyes. Don't remember exactly which video cards are affected, but some have been able to get past the reaper core by not looking directly at it. Not sure how helpful that is, but might help you find a fix.

I one shot the core with the cain rifle, pause, look up at the ceiling, and just as it's about to finish with the explosion, the game crashes. I've tried moving all over the room, looking in all kinds of different directions, when I destroy the reaper core my game just stops working.

Same with me....my screen goes black..and the sound loops...then i have to restart my computer...i set my resolution down to the lowest and turned all the graphics settings off...and i also turned off Phys-X in my Nvidia Control Panel.

i'm tired of restarting my computer...and trying to think of a way to get passed this...

i tried the windowed mode(not the window mode without border) and turned around towards the door after i shot the core with the cain rifle and it finally worked! but when it came to the cinematic scene it froze again...so i tried it again and just skipped the entire scene till i got on board the Normandy. So far so good! saved the game after talking to the crew.

No on mine though one of the husk went though a close door I started from and I was stuck I could kill it the game would let me progress so I had to restart it sucked too.
