I have an xbox "wireless" gamepad installed on my laptop, but the game never even asked me if I wanted to use it!

How do I get it to recognize my game controller?

P.S.: I'm using Microsoft Windows Vista by the way.

Er, wouldn't it just be easier to use the keyboard? I don't think PC mass Effect recognizes controllers but I could be wrong.

That's bull. I can play Batman: Arkham Asylum on the PC with my xbox controller, why can't I play this?..

Some things are easier with the gamepad and when it recognizes both I can jump back and forth between them in-game. That's what I do in Arkham Asylum and it's great.

Like I said, I'm not sure, but I don't think it does. I havent seen an option anywhere.

What?!..

This is nuts!  I specifically made it a point to ask on the previous forums if it was okay to play ME2 on the PC with an xbox controller. I was told the answer was YES.

What the f**k!

I was under the same impression...  The number of cross-platform games that don't support the 360 controller on the PC is getting ridiculous.  There literally is ZERO reason (other than pleasing fanboys), and using XPadder isn't the same.

I was going to play the game on my HTPC simply so I could play on my couch and because my desktop system isn't up to snuff.  Instead, I simply won't be playing the game.

Thanks for nothing, Bioware!

From a consumer and technology points of view, it's difficult to understand why ME2 does not support the xbox controller. My PC is a full multimedia device which I use from my couch (via a wireless keyboard), I would like to use it to play this game (with a game controller). I am disappointed.

Because EA would have to pay Microsoft and get the game certified for GFW.
