Think we'll ever be treated to a Dragon Age MMO sometime in the future?  There's plenty of class specializations, lots of lore to go by, interesting places to explore.

I think a "dark" MMO would be a welcome change and hopefully would keep a lot of the WoW kiddies away.  Possibly even go the route of the "Jedi" and make it a privilege to become an actual Grey Warden in the game (somewhat rare, but not ridiculously overpowered).

There were lots of dungeon crawls in DA:O that would've been fun completing with real players.  I'm thinking the MMO could be a much much better version of Shadowbane with its political gameplay and the dark edge of DA:O, combined with well written quests and challenging pve/pvp.

Thoughts?

EDIT: sorry didn't realize there was a thread on this already, damn you search button.

No, part of the richness in Dragon Age. Is that you are capable of playing it at your pace, you are able to enjoy the cutsecnes. Turning this into Warcraft will cheapen it, people will play Dragon Age because they want to. Not to get an "rare drop dagger"

Dragon Age is a great game, though it's not able to support an MMO. You'd have to create instances for people to fight tougthier. Star Wars is one of the few games that can pull this off, people actually thrive for star wars and being able

to be online with others, not sure how it will all work will make it the powerhouse in MMO's in my own thought. Dragon Age doesn't even have that many different locations, you'd fill up all of the known content with just a thousand people.

It's a great game but an RPG not a MMO RPG

OP: I hope you get an MMO that makes you happy. I really do. However, I hate MMOs so much it's worthy of poetry.

MMOs, how do I hate thee? Let me count
the ways.

I hate thee to the depth and
breadth and height

My soul can reach, when feeling
out of sight

For the ends of free porn and ideal mage builds.

I hate thee to the level of everyday's

Most quiet need, by sun and monitor-light.

I hate thee freely, as men strive
for Rares;

I hate thee purely, as they turn
from Spawn-camping.

I hate thee with a passion put to use

In my old griefing, and with my
childhood's love of good RPGs.

I hate thee with a hate I seemed
to lose

With my lost Atari, --- I hate  thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of my gaming bookshelf!
--- and, if BioWare choose,

I shall but hate thee better
after death. Preferably the death of MMOs.

My sincere and heartfelt apologies to fans of the incomparable Elizabeth Barrett Browning, but it needed said.

I sincerly hope not. It would take resources away from the strenghts of DA. Story and characters. There are already so few singleplayer rpgs being made any more. Id hate to see this series reduced to another mmo in an already cluttered market.

Gonna chime in with a "maybe" here, but the thing is, most people here probably haven't tried sandbox MMOs (or don't have the patience). All you need is good mechanics and good lore and players can make their own content. Bioware's already working on an MMO that addresses some story and grouping issues with MMOs. Depending on how SW: OR turns out, Bioware possibly could pull it off.

I've been around long enough to have tried alot off MMO's. Everuest 1, Saga Of Ryzom, EVE Online, WoW, Lineage II, Tabula Rasa, Star Wars (can't remember the title, old one, not TOR) and some I can't remember the name off right now. Even Beta tested some off the ones I've mentioned before as well as Jade Dynasty, Star Trek Online, Lord Of The Rings and a few others I do not remember the name off.

So yeah, we don't need another MMO right now, and certainly not set in a franchise with such depth, detail and good story.

Please stop asking about ME and DA MMOs. You already ruined us KOTOR with this game-mode, now leave us the good new games and enjoy those series you (MMO-community) already destroyed.
