I had to intall the game manually, the launcher doesnt work and the game wont start either. This is really irritating, I had to deal with this issue when I bought deadspace.
Please advise.

I have the same problem. I have to start the config and the game manually every time. Is this another EA game thats nerfed, like sims3?

Go to the folder of your ME2 installation open Binaries and double click on MassEffect2.exe. It should start the game.

I had this issue with a few games including Mass Effect 1. Turned out that my security settings were too high. I bypassed this by not using the launcher to start the game , but now the launcher works after turning the windows security level down one notch.
If youre having this issue try that or you can just find the game EXE in your system and make a shortcut to it on your desktop and launch right from the EXE and not the launcher.
