1) Either make the ammo system make sense (too much fridge logic) or go back to Mass Effect 1's guns.
2) Better inventory system; more items , and quantities.
3) Female Turian squad mate voiced by Mira Furlan who has at least one Lost and one Babylon 5 reference.

6. Get rid of the class system. Allow the player to select which skills/weapons Shepard has. I'm not talking about a wide open system, some sort of prerequisites would need to be in place to balance it, but I think this would be cooler and make for much more replay value.

3. Longer main quest (I wouldn't care if it takes more than 2 discs, as long as it's bigger and better)
4. Let us map more than 3 powers somehow
5. More side quests (there weren't nearly enough in ME2, and I want something to do when I'm done)
6. Normandy customization
7. An arena mode, or a mission replay mode.
8. Expand the planets! I wanna see a LOT of Omega (especially after reading Ascension), a LOT of the Citadel (bring back the presidium), and more of Illium.
9. Every question answered!

2. Build on what you have. The stage is set, the finale is not the place to start introducing a bunch of new characters, for instance. The final chapter should be about bringing the plot threads together.
3. Find a happy medium between ME1's RPG style and ME2's shooter-with-RPG-elements style. While some of the streamlining was good, there did seem to be a comparative lack of options compared to the first game. As an aside, remove the grindy/boring bits like the planet scanning. Tedium =/= gameplay.
4. Multiple ways to viably end it. That means if someone is looking for a triumphant happy ending, it should be possible. If another prefers a bittersweet ending, that should also be available.
5. Deeper relationships with your squaddies as a whole. This includes non-romance friendships that don't get stonewalled beyond a point if you don't get into their pants. It also includes a possibility for same-sex options for both genders. Oh, and make sure romantic options are clearly marked... sometimes 'obviously' romantic responses aren't as obvious as you might think they are.

2. A squad mostly composed of ME1 and 2 survivors, depending upon your actions up to that point. I'd also much rather learn more about the various characters and alien races we already have rather than throwing in a huge amount of the new. Some of them feel underdeveloped.
3. Much more character interaction. Both with Shepard and party banter, especially aboard the Normandy and while walking around. Dragon Age did this quite well. ME2 feels like a step backward.
