I think I'll go back to my Infiltrator instead of attempting Insanity with my Soldier, sounds like it'll be a much easier run...

You want to go with Assassin for the damage bonus. Cloak really only serves two purposes, damage bonus and run away. If you need more time to run away, you're probably already screwed. Damage bonus is much more useful. Now for the warp ammo, again you want something to take out Barriers very fast(last level on Insanity almost every enemy with Barrier) and Reave is faster than warp ammo and it conserves ammo as well.

Actually, I was thinking that Cloak would be useful to walk up to things and blow their brains out with a shotgun.  (I'm assuming we can get shotguns at some point as a bonus?)  Agent would help cycle the cloak faster so that you don't die from the repercussions.

Max special (I picked Legions special)

For infiltrator, level Disruptor Ammo first - you will get lots of use out of it in the opening missions and it will remain useful later on. If on second playthrough, level Armor Piercing Ammo next. If not, Incinerate.

Invest small points into all the start levels except for Cryo and AI Hacking, if on Hardcore above. On Veteran and below, Cryo and AI Hacking are nice alternatives.

Can we all agree that Cryo and AI hack are the skills that should be left alone altogether. Now the question remains about the bonus talent. Technically warp ammo would be better but for barriers I use Reave as I like to try and conserve my ammo.

Right now on my insanity playthrough on my lvl 30 Infiltrator I have the following setup:

4/4 Disruptor Ammo (heavy disruptor)

4/4 Incinerate (incineration blast)

4/4 Operative (assassin)

4/4 Tactical cloak (assassination cloak)

4/4 Armor Piercing Ammo

1/4 AI Hack

AI hack is a god send on insanity since mechs typically stay out in the open moving towards you. Hacking the first mech at health will get them in a crossfire eliminating it as well as buying you a little bit of time to fire on the rest of his buddies.

I'm actually going to try dropping disruptor ammo in favor of squad cryo ammo. I'm pretty tired of never getting an opportunity to shoot targets since exposure out of cover for more than 4 seconds will leave me pretty hurt on insanity. My only concern is how ineffective will I be versus shields without disruptor ammo?

I'm also going to find out whether or not incineration blast is useful on Horizon against multiple husks. I suspect it is probably more effective to run and gun and take out each one at a time quickly versus trying to kill multiple husks simultaneously.

Tactical Cloak just to run away and for the extra damage bonus? That's quite the limited imagination on its use there. I've used Cloak on my Infiltrator to switch cover positions without taking fire to take flanking positions against the enemy (of course, you do have to make sure your enemies stop shooting in your direction first, which they'll often do when you activate the Tac Cloak behind cover unless you have squadmates near you) and at times sneaking up on the enemy before unloading bullets on them at close range for very quick kills (which works best with the Carnifex Handcannon or the Tempest SMG). And this is my experience playing Infiltrator on Hardcore.

Infiltrator is actually one awesome classes to use due to the Tactical Cloak and the passive sniper scope dilation, and it's the only class asides from the Soldier that can use the Widow Anti-Materiel Rifle, which is the most powerful weapon per shot in game second only to the Cain (and the Cain deals nearly 2000% more damage). While getting in close isn't the Infiltrator's strong point due to lack of health bonuses, it's not like it's impossible to create a close-ranged Infiltrator that uses a shotgun in tandem with the Tactical Cloak to deal massive damage.

Assassin+Assassin Cloak+ Widow=Instant Kill

Infiltrators are insanely powerful. I destroyed insanity like it was nothing.

I just started an Infiltrator playthrough last night. Since I want to keep things authentic, I'm keeping my Shepard a non-biotic, which means no biotic bonus abilities. So I'm trying to decide what would be the best bonus talent for a non-biotic Infiltrator. Neural Shock? Energy Drain? Something completely different?

I was thinking of having Jack in my squad so I could use her Squad Warp Ammo, but Armor Piercing Ammo is sounding better, and I intended on having Garrus in my party anyway, so now I'm trying to decide if I should keep Jack, replace her with Miranda (for her squad bonuses, plus her biotics/tech abilities), or Samara (for her biotics).

I use AP ammo as my bonus power. I avoid Hack and Cryo like the plague and thus far have not touched Disruptor ammo after getting AP. As mentioned before, Assassin with the Assassin Cloak and the Widow makes everything dead. With AP ammo, it gets dead with a bit of flashy gore as well. :P

If im using Tungsten ammo, for instance, would 15% power damage equate to 15% weapon damage? And if im playing as an Infiltrator, would the 15% power damage be tacked onto Assassin's Cloak? And, if so, would weapon damage > power damage? I am a bit confused on this :( I would think power damage for infiltrator is > weapon damage because of the tech abilities.

A little late, but...

Honestly, I see no reason to avoid putting a few (3?) points into AI Hacking. There aren't too many Geth levels in the game, but hacking one of those small bipedal mechs is a quick way to create a distraction. You can always retrain before the suicide mission.

The best build I've done with an Infiltrator was to ignore Disruptor and Cryo Ammo all together. Take either Warp or Armor Piercing Ammo instead. Then you can just focus on Cloak, Incinerate, AI Hack, class, and Warp/AP Ammo. By ignoring the Disruptor and Cryo, you can max out those other fives skills.

Hi guys, quick question.I have completed the game and playing now on hardcore setting, I have assassin maxed out(wep damage 15+) , assassination cloak maxed out(cloak damage 75%) heavy incinerate, I decided to get geth shield as bonus talent for the 10% wep damage but can this stack up on the damage I already have ? if not should I put heavy reave instead ?.

thanks-----(((((O)))))

ps-is it a good idea to have garrus in my team for his amour piercing rounds squad ability ?

Disruptor Ammo: 4 Heavy - Good way to spend points at higher levels. Great against Geth/Blue Suns/YMIR Mechs
Cryo - 0 - Not useful enough to put points into it.
Assassin's Cloak: 4 - Better to get a higher damage boost
Heavy Incinerate: 4 - Good for stripping armor, stopping regen, and finishing off weak enemies.
AI Hacking: 1 - You leave 1 pt out at lvl 30, and its not too bad to cast this on a stripped YMIR to distract him for a moment to finish him off.
Assassin: - Bonus damage and enhanced sniper zoom is great.
Heavy Warp Ammo: 4 - An infiltrator can wrech armor and health w/ incinerate and the widow, do good against shields with disruptor, so that leaves barriers, and warp ammo helps that, and more on armor and sets up warp explosions. Also, it non-casting, so you dont waste a cooldown for it, and as an Infiltrator, you should only use cooldowns on 80% cloak, 19% incinerate, and 1% AI hacking.

I thought the Infiltrator was the coolest class. I breezed through Insanity like nothing with the widow because it 1 shots basic enemies, even w/ shields/armor/barriers. Its arguably that easiest to beat insanity, but also the most boring.

I still found it very entertaining to run.

EDIT: Also, go for maxed cloak, then Oprative (or w/e the passive ability is), then incinerate, then warp or disruptor.

Visor from Omega, and any other pieces that boost your damage bonus, shields, or power bonus in that order.

You guys who are down against the vanguards on insanity don't know how to play it.
I've played vanguard on insanity and owned it.

Once you know how to use biotic charge effectively, it's almost unfair to enemies.

LOL necromancer. I'm sure most of these people know how to play a vanguard 6 months later.
