hahaha, yes, don't think so, as well, especially after reading the information about her in the named "codex" which was found in the CC
really want to know the major role she will play, I really like her for the information we have until now

Duncan is already allmighty, you could not beat the game if he was the big boss...

Is he going to pull a Master Li on us? :bandit:

I would not put it past him to "train us wrong as a joke." Then he can laugh at us as he smashed us into oblivion.

Personally, I think Loghain's daughter (the current queen) is plotting something. David Gaider said "The most important thing to remember about Anora is that she's her father's daughter." So I'm assuming she's very tactically minded and intelligent. She's in a position of power (particularly with her husband out of the picture) and who would suspect the weeping widow?

True, I have also thought about Anora's role, but you could interpret Mr Gaider's quote the other way too: she is the daughter of her father, and so, she serves him and actually is his puppet on the throne. Plus, Highever being defeated, Loghain is the only remaining Teyrn and is the highest rank male noble ingame... Arl Howe will certainly try to deceit Loghain for sure.

I think that the Archdemon is the Big Bad™. All the human/elven/dwarven politicking, backstabbing, etc. will just complicate things further, while making Thedas feel more fleshed-out and alive.

From the 3rd part of PC World's interview with Mike Laidlaw:

There's a storm cloud a-brewin', and that is The Blight, the Darkspawn, and they're coming. But at the beginning of the game they're not fully formed, they're on the way, but you've got people questioning whether the stuff that's happening is really portentous. "It's been 400 years, is it really going to happen again?" That kind of…it's almost denial. Later you can see how characters reacted to the fact that they weren't sure, that they didn't know, how that indecision or perhaps ambition drove them to attempt something because "Oh look, everyone's distracted, I can get away with this right now," and so on and so forth. As a result you can get into a space where you can understand our villains and yet still have this big looming wall of evil heading your way, which I like, because it means there's something you can be opposed to even while feeling sympathetic for characters that have fallen into some sort of depravity.

Don't get me wrong, I fully expect guys like Arl Howe to be evil @#$!s.  It's just that they will be petty, grasping, scheming evil, not destroyer of worlds, puppet-master of the darkspawn Evil.

Then again, it would be hilarious if Nan (from the human origin) turned out to be the Keyser Söze of Thedas, and the whole Blight is just an elaborate plan to keep the mabari out of her larder...

It's the Ser Cauthrien Effect again (she can be anything you want her to be as long as you don't know anything about her).

As for who is the big bad...darkspawn.

The evil and powerhungry humans and dwarves just want to kill some people, maybe even a lot of people, then they and theirs would rule for...how long? Decades? Centuries? All empires and kingdoms fall.

The darkspawn seem hell bent on killing all humans. And death is more permanant than any human made tyranny.

"True evil takes forms far from foul", and the darkspawn the cutest little creatures I ever did see
