By the end of my first play through I was level 28 and had
enough assignments left to make level 30 (went back and did them)

So has anyone had problems reaching level 30?

I played as an Infiltrator.

i think its good that they allowed you to make it to the top level in one play through though, it was a pain in the ass to play a whole new game as my same character in me1 to get to lvl 60 (first char was a soldier so it was pretty boring)

Honestly I'd rather see it upped to 50-60. 30 is really low if you can hit it in 20hrs after one run through the game.

No real incentive to keep playing, whereas with ME1 you got more bonuses etc as you kept leveling.

then you should have done more assignments, after my 1ist playthrough i was level 54, then i was near level 58 and finally level 60. it wasnt hard just annoying since the gaps became so huge.

ME1 took me 3 times to make level 60, 2 completionist playthroughs and 1 i made level 60 after 10 assignments

1 casual, 1 hardcore and 1 insanity.

I hardly did the assignments on this one and have been finding more on me 2nd and will look for even more now on my 3rd play through then i did on my 1st play through and i maxed out. >.> we shouldnt be able to max out without doing half the mission/assignments.

also im sorry my post freaked out like it did, something about microsoft office freaked out when i copied it here.

Would love to see a raised cap up to fifty, would really help though at that level you probaly could max out every ability. I got to level 30 first playthrough, very easy spent time mining and randomly found N7 missions voila. Question on Level 30, Does reaching level 30 give you any bonuses for a new game+ (me1 or me2)? Because I have not found any bonuses on either playthrough besides the beat the game bonuses and the me1 import bonuses.

I don't even think you can reach level 30 in one play through with a new character. You would have to import a level 60 character to reach level 30 by the last mission.

Also, it sucks that you get fewer squad points when you reach level 20. I don't understand why they decided not to let you and your squad max all the powers.

no noted bonus, on ME1 the max level achievement got you more exp on your account.

its likely they made level 30 since so many whined about level 60 being "SOOOO HARD".... >.> ya.. so sorry it took some time and effort.. then again, its not worth something if its easy.

Im guessing they decided to do that to make each of us feel "unique". Didn't work just pissed me off and now all I do is find optimal ability set-ups for my character.

I hate this though, I need to create a new ME1 file with a different name, I only have 1 right now...seems stupid that all 4 of my Shepards have the name Ordo.

i decided to finish the game when i did because i was tired of looking for platinum to finish upping my squad.
after beating the game i reloaded and finished my assignments and was at level 30

it was the same in the last game, at some point you went from 3 point to 2 and then to 1 when leveling up.

I imported my level 60 form ME1 but even without it my bonus exp carried over to a newly created character. I have alot of free time to test the things i post or i wouldnt bother posting them.

im now starting my 3rd runthrough of the game and if things go as my last two have i should bearly make 35 hours on insanity.

( 24h 43m spent on verteran, 28h 14m spent on hardcore, hoping for around 32 on insanity )

lol, nice.

i had 2 ME1 names and before i import the other one im going to finish insanity on ME2 and then do a complete run through of ME1

so about 3-4 days before i import it since ME1 is much longer and i have to do crap before i can get certain missions.

on the + side i made notes during my last playthrough so i know where everything is now.

Really?

I put 45 hours into the game, explored 100% of the galaxy, did every side quest i could find, imported a lvl 59 char from ME1... and only hit 28 after the suicide mission...

Its possible i missed 2 levels worth of side missions?

The difference from a lvl 59 character and a level 60 character to import from ME1 is 2 levels boost. You start out as level 5 not level 3.

Really? I thought it was only one level... i also guess i assumed that lvl 29-30 would take alot more exp then lvl 4-5, so that it wouldn't matter too much in the end... guess i was wrong on both accounts.

Shame... i was only ~30k exp from lvl 60 in ME1 too... coulda easily had it, just decided to skip a bunch of sidequests at the end of the playthrough because ME2 was sitting on the table waiting to be played.  Shoulda stuck it out for another hour.

30 is fair for everybody he doesn't want to play super hardcore, I loved the first ME but I feel like all the QQing is done by "hardcore" rpg brats. Go play some ff or something and let bio makes games.

-rant off-

Hit 30 on my first go and happy as hell that I did.

I have played a lot of Bioware's games. they have never placed such an easy and low max level before.

I'm sorry if this wasn't easy for other players but it should be easy for hardcore gamers and completionists.

This didn't start out as a rant or complaining, I was just wondering if anyone was having a hard time making level 30.

He never said that that character was his first character he made and beat the game with, just that it took him three playthroughs to reach level 60.

>.> ok lets start this

I have made several characters on the game and i have never had a problem going past level 50 on their  play through

several times i have deleted the game information just so i could re-earn achievements.

now unless something crazy happened with my system, every time i made level 50 i was able to level up more

sorry if MY game play was different then yours but this is how things went for me on my latest play through.

now unless my first play through back when the game 1st came out made it so i could level up all the time i have said things as i know them and not as they were written else where.

add-on (editing take to long to update)

thank you rabid

when ever i talk about a playthrough it is character specific.

i have had 15 total characters on ME1 (want their names?) mostly to do things differently and experiment with different classes/choices.

i have made both male and female, tried all the classes and went good or bad or mix of both.

I put over 500 hours into the game messing around to see about the order of assignments given to you over the map and if they matter anywhere else in the game.

My 1st character was a male infiltrator with my name, paragon. I did the main mission and nothing more. Next i started exploring, then did alot of exploring and missions.

found best set up for my style and stuck with it.

"assumptions are dangerous" XD

Guaritor: it might not be, ill play around with it once im finish with my insanity play through and see for sure.

its most likely not possible to make level 30 without and old import of a high level, going to try with multiple 50-60 level characters ill be making once i get more free time.
