I was playing Casual on my first playthrough and rushed through it because I wanted to get a feeling for the whole game (But specifically the end game) and by then I was level 26 with no N7 missions or anything, so I'm assuming it's fairly easy to get to level 30 in one playthrough.

Ya i did the normandy crash site and zaeed... though doesn't the long service medal achievement give a 25% exp bonus? With that 30 should be relatively easy.

assuming no bonus carries over from ME1:

no exp bonus is suppose to be gained from the achievements on this version.

most exp bonus if carried over from ME1:

20%

Without importing, Assignments and DLC you get up to Level 28 with about 300 Exp left until level 29.

If you import a Character or already did a Playthrough (even without DLC), you reach 30 in one Playthrough without problems.

missions are hidden pretty well on ME2, unlike on ME1 where we got 1 in each system.

any1 with a name is someone to talk to and land-able areas need to be fully explored. each of the main planets/stations have several easy missions (3-7)

Don't really understand the question.

I made one complete playthrough with Default Shepard first, he's now as i said stuck with ~300exp left to level 29.

Afterwards, i imported my paragon FemShep and completed the game with her. Since you get more Missions and the Long-Time-Service-Bonus, you'll reach Level 30 a couple of side quests before you start the suicide-mission.

What i did not test, was importing a renegade (wich may have a little less followup-missions) but the long time service-bonus is high enough to support the two missing levels from a "virgin" playthrough).

I hope they increase the level cap in the upcomming DLC.  At least to 40 or 50...

what i was asking was if you had any other "new characters" do a play through and see if the exp was the same

Did you have 100% in all systems and buy those 4-5 maps on that planet with Liara?

it would be nice if they did, it would give me something to do while testing outcomes on the game.

No, i did not make a 2nd "Virgin" Charakter but there isn't a reason why there should be differences in Exp between to complete "virgin" Playthorughs. As I said, I completed it, that includes clearing all sidequests, empty all shops and hack/override any given chest and computer.

I'm sorry I have to disagree with many people here. Having 60 levels doesn't add to the game, it just breaks up the leveling more. I hate it, it encourages power inflation and filler powers.

ok, thank you. most peoples definition of completing it doesnt include doing everything you can do.

flint: i understand that since most games would rather see players with random skills then maxed everything. I can't comment on how other people thought of skills but for the most part i maxed the skills i needed within 30 levels and the other two felt more like filler skills since they were useless for me when i did use them.

the real issue i have with it is how easy it was to make a maxed level character while in ME1 it took actual effort and now anyone can do it without trying that hard.

since this is now on page two and i listed this near the middle/end of page one:

this topic wasn't originally meant to be a rant or complain or ask for more levels in the game, it was simply to ask if people actually had problems making level 30 based on how easily i did it and i didn't even realize i was close to maxing.

if any viewer opposes the views posted in this topic I don't mind you posting them and explaining why but attacking those who think different will get the attention of staff.

I got to 29 with an import that kicked me off at Level 3, and I believe I've done all the quests in the game. Still got research to do and planets to scan for resources, but that'd be it. I guess when my guidebook arrives I'll be able to check it and see if there's anything I've missed. I also have a bugged side quest that says it's both complete and not complete so I'm not sure if I've got the XP from that one yet.

you might not have missed anything, but if you really want to be sure you could visit each system again and check the planets for landings.. you know, a free time thing.

Well, all the galaxy map locations are 100% complete, so I'm pretty sure it's all done.

how much exp you need to level?

might as well finish researching and take on the boss.

i actually got to level 30 before i went through the Relay....keep in mind i'm playing as a soldier, and i was freely letting my team use powers. i also got a bit of help, and started at level 5. but i also know that if i didn't start 5 levels ahead, i'd still have reached 30 by the end.

thats what i thought but a few people have said differently.

it could be a player style thing or the "no player will experince the game the same" thing that some1 talked about in a vid about the game.

Guys seriously, "30 is so low" is a dumb whine. 30 is the new max because levels are done differently. A higher number isn't necessarily better.

I made it to level 30 in one playthrough, but I imported my level 60 character. If I didn't, I don't think I would have reached level 30. I just finished what I am pretty sure is the last side-quest, and I hit level 30 like... 2 side-quests before that?

>.> odd how most people that oppose an idea use insults when saying so.

if its such a "dumb whine" then why bother commenting on it?

>.> now ill be assuming that you haven't read all of the posts in the topic so I'll list the general idea of the ones you might have missed.

the opening post was asking if anyone had problems reaching the max level.

small talk about possibilities of making level 30 with or without imported level 60 character

some reasons for the change >.>

and I'll list my intent of starting this topic.. again.. just for you.

Was not meant as a rant/complaining/"whining"

was wondering if anyone had problems making level 30 on first play through

as i have said at some point i maxed without trying and maxed the skills i wanted for my play style

i don't mind opposing sides posting, but insulting the side the wanted more levels ( me included since messing around with missions and finding those i missed is all i have left now) is not necessary.

now then, it's cool that you reach level 30 by doing all the side quests and you think it's a fine max level. Me and some of the others get why it was done and have talked more in private chat about the reasons for it. If you want to continue posting here please do so without insulting the other side, since you are unlikely to change opposing beliefs and more likely to start a fight that gets the staff to make us shut up or locks this topic.

finally, lets get back on topic shall we?

I can assume you didn't have a hard time making level 30 based on your post.

My general opinion on more levels:

it would help me since as an infiltrator and with my play style i don't do well early in the game. shields drop very fast on ME2 and I'm hardly making 300 hp, more levels means more hp and i can live through 6 or 7 shots instead of 4 or 5 without shields.

honestly, i highly doubt Bioware would bother adding more levels.

This is the general discussion area of the forum and it does allow us to "Discuss your general game play experiences". that being said, its my general game play experience that i did better later on in the game when i have better ups while in ME1 i did better since i could get more hp, battle was different, and so was my style. From reading other posts the general experience is that reaching level 30 was easy, some wanted more levels, and those who supported your side were fine with what they had.

now then, I'm returning to my insanity play through so in a few levels I'll check for more replies.

I believe that the cap was made at 30 so BioWare could develop the 31 to 60 level stuff for ME3 and keep things balanced and focused for our imports there.

Getting to lvl 30 is stupid easy and all of the achievements are really simple to get. This game is great but it was a super cater job to casual gamers. Bioware usually doesn't go this route but mass is so big i can't blame them they wanna make money.

then you should have done more assignments, after my 1ist playthrough i was level 54, then i was near level 58 and finally level 60. it wasnt hard just annoying since the gaps became so huge.

Pretty impressive seeing your first playthrough is capped at level 50.

Back on topic, I'm hoping I can get to 30 with my level 3 import.  I'm pretty diligent about completing everything and I'm currently at level 21 with 3 loyalty quests remaining.
