I have played a lot of Bioware's games. they have never placed such an easy and low max level before.

Erm, Knights of the Old Republic and Dragon Age both had lower level caps and were both easier to attain :P

I'm still confused why my character is so damned weak after he beat the holy smack out of Saren. Really now Bioware, resetting levels with cheesey "Bionic Man" scene was lame. Cerebus brang us back with the intent to keep everything about us the same. How did we suddenly lose all our leet skillz?

I get this feeling it was to set you up for ME3, so your not level 130 in ME3 or something. Which concerns me, as it may mean they decide to go with the ME2 style, something that would make me rage.

I imported a level 58 character, which means I started at level 3. I hit level 30 with out doing all the uncharted worlds, so it's definitely possible for a fresh character to hit level 30.

I became lvl 30 right before the final boss (I was lvl 60 in ME1, and did every quest in ME2 including DLC)

Most game sequels reset your level and abilities, Bioware certainly isn't the first to do that. If you didn't do that it would be incredibly easy...imagine starting the game at level 30. No one wants to steam roll the game on their first playthrough...well unless you hate any sort of challenge.

So has anyone had problems reaching level 30?

I played as an Infiltrator.

Really?

I put 45 hours into the game, explored 100% of the galaxy, did every side quest i could find, imported a lvl 59 char from ME1... and only hit 28 after the suicide mission...

Its possible i missed 2 levels worth of side missions?

you get the same bonus from 50-59 and 60 is 2 additional levels so yeah i hit 30 on each playthrough i imported one of my 60s from me 1 with (had 6 different ones)..

Hmm now that i think about it... could difficulty have anything to do with it? More mobs on insanity?

Its also possible i missed out on side quest follow ups from ME1, as i just wanted to start ME2.

What difficulty did you play at? Did you do every side quest in your ME1 save?

Imported a level 60 character myself. I'm currently at level 28 and will hit 29 once I finish my last 5 N7 sidequests (playing on Insanity for my first playthrough). Did every other sidequest and loyalty mission before that. I should easily have my 30 at some point during the suicide mission (finally, tonight will be the night!).

Its easy, the level cap is low because you have so few skills

Pretty impressive seeing your first playthrough is capped at level 50.

when i talk about a play through they are character specific >.> i have made more then one character and this was already covered after the last person assumed i was bsing.

i have made 15 characters on ME1, why? boredom and testing things in the game.

anything else you need clerified while im online?

That's odd.  I did every assignment and ended the game at level 28 - 29.

No, I had a few 60's until I lost them from installing Windows 7 and forgetting about it.  Figured I had plenty of time to get another 60 before the game launched anyway, but I waited around too long and ended up with a lvl 54.  I started out at level 3.  So it looks like a level 60 has a 2 level advantage over anything under the cap.

Nope, I was in the same boat as you. Finished my first playthrough on level 29. I'd read somewhere that getting to level 30 in one playthrough was impossible, but I only needed three little sidequests to get to 30. I could have easily done them before I finished the game, it was laziness that made me leave them. Not quite sure how that makes me a Power Gamer as the achievement suggests, but there you have it.

Interesting. I imported a level 50 and i reached level 30 before the final mission, without any DLC plus i didn't completed all N7 missions.

At the end of my playthrough I was level 27, so probably not. I must have put in a good 32-35 hours into it. Didn't rush it.

I started with a level 60 Vanguard from ME 1 and did every possible mission and explored every possible planet before doing the IFF recovery mission. I was level 30 before the end of the game. This was on a PC. My first playthrough was also on Casual. Yeah, I'm a wuss but I'm currently running through on Insane with an Adept.

It's pretty tough but now I've got Archangel and Miranda I just use them to break shields and then use Reave followed by Warp from Miranda or myself. It works but it's a bit repetitive. :)

My first ME2 playthrough was a level 60 import and I ended up at 27. But I only did one N7 mission, and still had two loyalty missions to do, so when I go back to it, I expect to hit 30.

My current(2nd) ME2 playthrough was a level 48 import, and only started off on level 3 IIRC. I don't know if he will get to 30 at least until they release some more DLC.

some people say its possible

one player said a new character cant make level 30 and ends at level 28, which is still pretty high.

most say you cant unless you import a level 60.
