Okay, so there were a lot of areas of the galaxy that didn't seem to be charted.  You also buy some star charts that let you go to more areas.  I guess the question I have is, is there anything out there???  Are there interesting missions, cities or any reason to go to these places, other than to mine more resources?  I didn't check many of them out because the ones that I did had nothing but abandoned planets with a few resources.  The fact that you buy star charts to go to new places seems to indicate that there is some reason to go there, but what is it?

There are probably some anomaly assigments out in those areas, though I don't recall exactly where each one was. I've explored 100% of the available galaxy, and if you keep checking planets you will find a bunch of N7 assignments.

So they did sneak some actual assignments and such on to those other planets? I guess that would be something to look for if you are desperate for more play time.

I completely finished the game, there's a few side quests in those, mainly about the terminus mercs, but they're nice little (short) side quests, nothing major but if you're a completionist....

Indeed. The assignments weren't very exciting, to be honest, since there was almost no dialogue or crew involvement - just little tasks to complete. Still, that's what is out there.

Well I guess that's something to look forward to at least. Please tell me I'm not the only person slightly down in the dumps over the lack of side quests this time around?

I'd agree, sort of. It still has more quest content than ME1. Personally I care more about my party members and the dialogue in their quests, but it would sure be nice to have a proper "city" location in the next game with lots of small side-quests.

Besides, those N7 missions are tied together. They're nothing special, but at least they're not completely irrelevant.
