Why are all the reviewers beating up on mining planets?

It's almost like they put the mining feature in because they knew the game would have been too much fun without it.

As was mentioned ealier, scanning planets is painful on the PC, literally my hands hurt.
It is the worst thing about this game. Second worst thing is flying around to find these planets.
