Fas est et ab hoste doceri, "It is right to learn even from the enemy". Ovid
No sane person would throw away captured enemy technology, weapons, resources...... etc.
Especially when the technology of the enemy is far superior.
Look at the various conflicts, look at the cold war, look at industrial espionage, look at everyone copying everyone ...etc.
This is what happens in reality.

About ME3 "reality".
I am going to start my first ME3 with the save game that I saved the base. I have played ME1 and ME2 as Paragon and saving the base was my only renegade decision. I am curious to see what Cerberus will do with that technology. Of course they will plan something bad for non-humans and I want to see it in my first play through. Then again i can always import the savegame where i destroy the base.

Thank you bioware for this amazing game.

I always blow it up. Sometimes I wonder why I never concider saving it until I hear what TIM says "This is for the good of humanity - Ceberus IS humanity." And "This base could secure human dominance against the Reapers and beyond."

I don't know about you but I'm not about to go through hell trying to stop a monster just to make another at the end of ME3.

My paragade kept it. (to him rules go out the window when dealing with the reapers.)

renegade blew it up. (She'll beat the reapers with out TIM) and my paragon blew it up. (he's a paragon)

First playthrough the base is no more. Cerberus can not be trusted.

For my second though I kept it to see what will happen.
