So I was trying to make a new character in ME2. After the intro scene where things happen, it's supposed to take you to a character creation screen. Every time I try to do that, the game locks up in the exact same place, on the orange load screen with the skull. I have to shut down the XBox to get it working again.
The strange thing is, when I imported my old ME1 character, it worked fine, and I already have one playthrough under my belt. I really want to get that second play through started with a new character, how do I resolve this freeze/crash?

I've had that happen to me twice. Basically the first time the game started, it crashed importing. I was like: Eeep! Tried it again, it worked. Second time I importe, worked. Third time, it crashed. Fourth time it worked.
I'm hoping they fix that, it's kind of annoying.

How annoying. That really needs to be fixed, especially since that's a non-trivial amount of time you have to wait through just to get to character creation.

Same thing happening to me 3 times in a row it's bloody annoying since you cant skip the prologue or even save.

I found deleting any and all previous character saves made the load screen lockup go away that you mention.

Hah, I'm sure as hell not doing that when I have a beaten savegame I plan on using in ME3.

ya same here. My ME1 import worked fine. now that i try to import my ME2 it crashes on the orange skull screen. Sounds like PC is having trouble with it as well
edit: Got it to work. (third times a charm) Idk if this has anything to do with it, but i had my game installed to my HD and it worked fine for my 1st playthrough. I decided to delete the game of the HD and reinstall it. Tried it one more time and it worked. Like i said, idk if that did the trick or you just have to try it a few time. good luck getting yours to work.
