Soldier, Soldier. In my opinion.
The machine gun is why. Combine that with warp ammo and you're good to go.

Only finished the game as a Soldier. On my second playthough as an Infiltrator now. Of the two, i'd say the soldier is probably more powerful in a general "melee", but the infiltrator is nastier against bosses and single targets (Widow and assassination cloak is devastating).

Vanguard
Charge all the way baby! Be prepared to die a lot while learning the ropes, but after that, you're home free

Beat with a soldier on veteran, started a vanguard today. Why is most peeps saying the vanguard suck? I'm slaughtering everything with charge barrier and shotty. Only died twice and i got half my party already. Extremely fun class. Just don't charge into crowds, its a death wish.

I usually go with the caster-type, so I play an Adept.
Of course, I'm doing my first run on insanity; as it turns out that sitting behind cover spaming warp is far less entertaining than one would expect.

Infiltrator is the best due to the damage bonus and the cloak.
The most fun would probably be Vanguard on the lower difficulties.

Infiltrator.
With cloak I can either snipe with impunity or run away if I'm getting my a** kicked.

Adept. Because I can play a shooter in almost any game, but Mass Effect lets me fling enemies into the air WITH MY MIND.
Has issues on Hardcore/Insanity, though.

Infiltrator by far. Widow

played through as vanguard and inflitrator, both have their merits. however, i found vanguard to be far superior once you acquire use of the sniper rifles. take off the enemies sheilds from distance, then switch to shotgun and charge

Infiltrator. Not for powergaming reasons, though, i just like the playstyle.
However, sadly half your team in ME2 seems to consist of Infiltrators, so i either have to pick up people i dont like for a balanced group or stick with a somewhat sniper-only-wolfpack, which is what i do. Works well enough

Soldier by far IMO. All damage upgrades + armor damage upgrades + miranda's squad damage bonus + revenant machine gun + warp ammo (disruptor ammo for synthetics) = win.

Vanguard because it's most fun to play for me.

Am I the only one who enjoyed the Sentinel the most?
It's just such a versatile and tactical class, a very different experience than the Sentinel in ME1.
But my first class was the Vanguard, which was a lot of fun but also much harder to play.

Im a big vanguard fan. lots of fun. played soldier a little but but feel adrenaline rush was over rated. but still fun. I think Im going to have fun with adept and sentinel. Im sure infiltrators are fun but not really m playstyle. I like my enemies to know it was me hence vanguard

i personnaly favoured the adept because you can wipe out a bunch of enemies without a gun.

I liked soldier for the balance. I had difficulty choosing at first, but my friend had a good point: eventually the novelty of cool-looking classes would wear off throughout the game. Having beaten ME2 once, I'm glad to say that I don't regret choosing a soldier.

I started with an adept... just a few lvls in I felt that it was kinda boring. :/ Cover, warp, cover, warp, and once in a while singularity. So I made an Vanguard instead.. much more fun in my opinion. Sure, more life threathening in the beginning but more MMMFFF!

Playing on insanity, favorite to least favorite:
1. Vanguard - there is no more fun anywhere than charging about like a mad thing! (but tough to learn to play)
2. Infiltrator - very cool when you cloak and headshot with the Widow
3. Sentinel - love getting up close and personal for a shield detonate
4. Adept - lots of toys to play with! Can get a bit tedious when you have to hang back in cover and slowly wear the enemy down though...
5. Soldier - I love the guns, but I always feel like this class misses something. It's just not as much fun for me.
6. Engineer - needs something to make it more fun. I love the drone but ...

Soldier for me. I play it mostly for the sake of roleplaying the character - I see Shepard only as pure soldier, not some biotic or tech expert. But the fact that it lets me survive the insanity difficulty with ease doesn't hurt either - Adrenaline Rush ftw.

I prefer Soldier or Infiltrator. The first one for the machine gun, and the latter for stealth and sniping

Soldier...to quote Neo from the Matrix.... "We need Guns! LOTS OF GUNS!"
