All classes on Insanity, and i gotta say, Soldier is the least interesting to me.

It's just so "meh".

Engineer all the way, so much utility, even without the biotics. Sure, you may not be able to get up close and personal on insanity, but when you've got so much control over your enemies, why would you want to?

Adept and Engineer are my favorites

just make sure you bring the right defense-stripping squadmates and you're good to go :)

For story sake I love the soldier - I really like the idea of the hero being a woman, not having any super powers AND coming from a slum background... it's the idea that you only need the determination and willpower to work your way up.

For gameplay sake, I loved vanguard on insanity.

My soldier Shep is male and Colonist, but, I like soldier for similar RP reasons. I like my Shepard having no special powers, but being strong-willed, tough, and skilled - I find it more heroic personally. And it just seems to fit how Shep is presented in cutscenes.

Gameplay-wise, soldier wins again. Being an FPS fan, I enjoy shooting more than spamming damage powers, so, soldier is kinda the clear choice for me. And I love being spoiled for choice in guns. Though I sometimes do still wish they had a little more variety in powers rather than "spam AR".

Assault sentinel was hella fun too, though I found it extremely easy even on Insanity. But even being easy, it was fun being able to wade into close-quarters with impunity. There isn't really a class I *don't* like, though I certainly favor the gun-toting classes over the power-slinging ones.

Vanguard.

You can basically teleport to a target and have a shotgun in their mouth at the press of a button. /win

I run into a battlefield wearing my shining golden armor like it's Super Ghouls & Ghosts. Sentinel all day.

That tech armor saved my butt on so many occasions and it looks ten times better than barrier or fortification.
I had the most fun using the soldier and sentinel class although the adept class was suprisingly helpful on insanity when taking out multiple husks (2 shots with a heavy pistol then the biotic throw, rinse and repeat).

Sentinel.  Sentinels are adaptable, durable, work especially well with teammates, and thrive on the player using his/her squadmates' abilities well.  Due to this, I actually feel like a Commander when I'm playing a Sentinel.

From a roleplaying standpoint, I like the Sentinel because I loathe class abilities that make Shepard extremely powerful compared to his squadmates.  My Shepard is an exceptional individual in command of exceptional individuals.  He is not a superpowered individual who merely babysits weakling teammates because the game forces him to drag two of them along for missions.  My Shepard's power derives from his ability to command, which I think is the best demonstration of his power.

There is a forum for discussion about your favorite classes that annihilator27 was kind enough to link, but here it is again: Mass Effect 1 & 2 classes, Strategy, and Builds Forum.
