I love Bioware and this game but after waiting that extra time and having my specializations messed up by that patch i was extremely dissappointed by the content or lack thereof in RTO. If there is more $5 dlcs i will be very hesitant on downloading them. I was just wondering how other people felt.

I liked it, I just wish there would of been more dialogue/cut scenes.. I liked the weapons and armor.

Prepare for a slew of post telling you that $5 is nothing so you should not complain, that what other games do have nothing to do with what Bioware decides, etc...

After all the wait I was really ready to pass it by. I'm glad I didn't. I am on a fixed income so $5 is a lot of money but I took a chance (I thought that if it wasn't any good it would be my last download) but I was surprised. It is just extra stuff but you really need to use your noodle to figure out where everything is. If your player character is below level 10 or 12 you will really have to work and most of Ostagar is there; including the tower and a tunnel. I don't want to say anymore as it would spoil it for a lot of folks. Honestly it was well worth $3.75 but whats a buck and a quarter extra? It was fun.

I was horribly disappointed. It took maybe an hour, tops, to work though that.

I agree.  There should have been a lot more dialogue.  It was 99% fighting Darkspawn and spiders.
I even took Alister and Wynne, so they had some dialogue.  Which wasn't all that interesting.

Yeah you just run pretty much through a straight path. If you know where everything is you could do it in a half hour and their is almost no options dialogue or otherwise to speak of. I didn't think Wardens keep was that great but its much better then this. Without Duncans sword it would have been real garbage.

I took them too and I thought it was very unlike Alistair to be so mean to Wynne. Usually he only mean to Morrigan

I get that some people had some high expectations for this dlc. But I have a question.. what were people really expecting for $5? Was closer to almost $7 for me thanks to the exchange rate. I thought it was an alright dlc, but then I didn't have any expectations.

It was disappointing because I was expecting more party banter or conversations. When you went to the spot where you meet Alistair he should have said, "Hey, this is where we first met. Can't believe it feels like it was so long ago, look at how things turned out.". Certain spots should have little dialogue quips from Alistair and Wynne.

The gear, and the last battle was good. Felt really satisfying.

Don't remember reading that, care to elaborate?

The only DLCs I've ever bought were for DA so I couldn't care less about the price. The content however did leave something to be desired. I like the armour, I like what banter there is between Wynne and Alastair, but I was really looking forward to slaying a slew of darkspawn. That's my complaint in a nutshell: not enough darkspawn. That and it wasn't particularly challenging or add anything besides loot. WK at least added two new abilities thanks to Avernus. It fulfilled what it claimed to fulfill, but didn't bring any surprises.

the only party memeber you could add is Dog if you hadnt the first time or if you choose not to be a human noble

i actually liked it a lot. it was my favorite of the dlc so far (shale's quest, wk, and rto). i guess it's a taste thing. i was very thorough, but it took me an hour to finish, so i like the length too.

I'm actually suprised the BDF (Bioware Defense Force) hasn't already jumped all over the OP to be honest. Image IPB

when someone is simply expressing an opinion and not being a troll about it, us members of the bioware defense force do not attack.

Bring Loghain instead of Alistair. Him and Wynn are more interesting. Still, felt more like a treasure hunt than the vengeance I was hoping for. Woulda been nice to find Duncan's body too.

Can I just ask, and I don't know if this is off-topic -- how many BioWare Points is The Warden's Keep DLC?

It says $7 but it's not clear how many points this is? I am guessing 600-ish given that the $5 RTO is equivalent to 400 -- are either of them worth it?

Have enjoyed the game immensely and am planning a second playthru but with additional content, but don't want to go for it, if it's only an extra hour or so play-time?

Comments welcome... I wonder how much will be included in the new expansion pack as well?

I found it very nice, and there were some really nice scenes. Also, I was nicely surprised by the fact that the environment wasn't completely recycled.
It was not perfect (there was one very important scene missing, when you kill a certain thing and find two certain things, there should have really been a scene there, or at least someone telling something, but there was nothing), but it was definitely worth the price.

Whoever says that $5 for an hour is too much should consider that he probably spends the same for a mcdonalds meal.

Sorry guys, anyone know how many Bioware points needed for Wardens Keep DLC?

Warden's Keep is 560 BWP, if I remember correctly.

At checkout they only have the points in $5,$7, and $15 intervals.

If you don't think $7 is worth an hour or so of gameplay, then don't get it. I thought it was worth it, but your mileage will vary.

I know, I totally agree with you.  Been hearing those "5 dollars' nothing so you shouldn't complain" arguement.
I suggest you check out the reviews from both sides (those who like it and those who don't) before you make your purchase.

Well, I went into it with very low expectations so I was pleasantly surprised by it. I also steered clear of any spoilers that were posted in the last month so it was all new for me.

Considering how much I replay the game it was definitely worth the $5 since it translates into far more than 1 hour. If people are disappointed or surprised by the length of RtO I can only say that how long it is was never a secret. Perhaps these people wouldn't complain so much if they had looked into it beforehand.

Most of the gear is useful. The weapons/shield are great and the boots are good enough to consider breaking a tanking set bonus for.

I've only done it once so far and my party was Alstair, Wynne, and Dog but the banter was good.

Cheers, I kinda decided was gonna get Warden's Keep but have my doubt about Return to Ostagar...

My first playthrough experience was with a female dwarf rogue, and basically she kicked butt big-time and became a cross between a tank and a chest unlocker... any recommendations for second playthrough?

I did the first one without Wynne or Leliana, so thought I'd do a second playthrough with these and a different main role... maybe with a human or elf mage? Or perhaps another rogue but this time an elf with bow-based skills rather than dual wielding... any suggestions? At the minute I'm leaning toward a mage main character with Leliana as my rogue, but any thoughts would be appreciated...
