Considering how much I replay the game it was definitely worth the $5 since it translates into far more than 1 hour. If people are disappointed or surprised by the length of RtO I can only say that how long it is was never a secret. Perhaps these people wouldn't complain so much if they had looked into it beforehand.

I did read about it beforehand just thought it would be alot more eventful. Hardly any dialouge or cutscences. Plus if you know where everything is already its more like a half hour.

That and Wardens keep and Stone Prisoner both had plenty of cut scenes and dialogue.

For those interested, my main party was Morrigan, Dog, and I kept switching between Oghren, Sten and Zevran until Shale appeared, then it was just my Brutish Rogue -- , Morrigan, Shale and Zevran all the way -- found the last bits very easy...

[edit: keep spoiler discussion out of the non-spoiler forum, please]

Hm... It gave me a evening of fun. The loot wasn't too great (for my characters ofc.) and many scenes were "missing" it felt a bit amateur-ish and empty...Many places where they could add a dialog or two. I also expected more darkspawn... Altho the fights were entertaining.

All in all it wasn't all bad. Another piece of DA:O and thats always good.

Well I must admit, I've got Mass Effect 2 just installed, yet here I am on the Dragon Age forum, so guess that's a vote of confidence for the game... I'm definitely planning a second playthru, but keep putting it off, bizarrely 'cos I want to relish it and try and enjoy it second time round, and maybe explore more options... I did all the goody-goody things first playthru, and wondering if should playthru second time with a more bull-ish, 'am on a mission don't distract me' attitude... killing or steamrollering through anyone getting in the way??

There is nothing wrong with RtO (imo). it is just that people built it up so much in their minds, with all the ****e that was happening pre-release.

I enjoyed RTO :)

Would I have liked it to be longer? Extra dialogue? Well, yeah. The desire for MOAR is always within ;)

Personally, I'd have liked some extra dialogue for companions who _weren't_ there. I'd have thought Leliana etc might have had some questions of those who were there. Especially the romantic interests....apparently they don't have much curiosity about major events in the PC's life. ;)

But, I still had a good time going back to Ostagar and kicking some darkspawn butt. Gave me a nice break from ME2.

I thought the new dialogue didn't always seem to mesh in tone and style with what was in the rest of the game - apart from that, I enjoyed RtO.

It was nice, a few extra exp points and nice items. I finished rto with character that already finished the game so i didnt needed any strategy or planning to go throu it.

In RTO i found a key t o the mages chest, but no use for it? where's the chest? thought the add on was good, not brilliant but good, well worth my £3.10 anyway!

I play at a slower pace than the average player (123hr my first playthrough without playing any additional content) so I wasnt surprised to find RtO took me over two hours to complete. Although Alistair mentions taking Wynne, I declined this time, so while I wish there had been more dialogue, I accept I made a decision that limits that. Although I do wish Zevron had made some vocal communication as to why I recieved -3.

Overall I was satisfied with this addition, despite taking characters from an endgame (no getting to use all the snazzy new equipment).

Whoever says that $5 for an hour is too much should consider that he probably spends the same for a mcdonalds meal.

Meh, these days you can pick up older games for less than $10 (Steam, GOG, and what have you), and they'll last at least 10 hours.

So $5 for a one hour long, and mostly uneventful DLC doesn't really compare to picking up something cheap off whatever your favorite Digital Distribution service is.

The chest is at approximately the same spot it was originally, by the Tranquil. I found the chest but not the key. Mind you I didnt look to hard for a key as I assumed I had the only remainder from the prisoner and must have lost it on my travels. Nice to know it exists.

Mmm, only just realised you cant go back there again once completed otherwise I would not have returned to camp whilst still having the key. Thanks though KariTR!

It was alright (no, actually quite average)... the level of difficulty really needs to be looked at in DAO, the fights on nightmare were very simple. It was unfortunately story light, which is the main reason I play BW games to begin with. It also failed to generate any empathy for the clown King. Still, it gave me something different to do.

Its in the same cage the prisoner was in.. When I first entered I had no idea where I was lol

Generally it was ok. I loved the new items, the kings armour and Duncans weps!

But I was left disapointed by the lengh of the DLC, granted it was slightly longer then wardens keep.I just feel RTO should have been twice as long to really appreciate the value of this DLC.

I wont be buying any more DLC unless they improve the lengh of it. Im not expecting 20 hours of gamplay.. maybe 8-10 hours :-)

I suppose if you start a new char, with all the DLC inthe game. Then it does add to the game.

But if bioware are reading thsi forum! Please make future DLC twice as long!

If the key is even there or not depends on exactly what you did when you originally played through Ostagar.

BTW people, this is in the no spoilers section.

And back on topic, I was disappointed.  I knew a lot of what to expect as I had read about RtO in the spoilers section.  It still felt lacking in many ways.  If I compared this with any other piece of the game or the other two DLCs, I'd rate this as by far the least interesting part of the game.  It's not awful, it's just not great.

IMO the length of it is just fine, most of the gear is defenetly midgame-isch with the exception off duncans weapons.

Defenetly felt the lack of lore though, some things should have triggered some cutscene's (can't elaborate as it's non spoiler section) and it would defenetly have been nice to have more convo's of other companions, especialy sten.

Overall it's a $5 well spent but it could have been a bit more.

Hmmm, £30 to buy the game, 60 hours of playtime

Warden's Keep is £4

RTO is £3

Total of about 2-3 hours gameplay, by all accounts. That would have cost only £1.50 combined from the original game. I think I'll pass.

Overall, I actually enjoyed it... But I went in with realistic expectations. I knew it was only going to be about 1 hour long -- they made that clear prior to releasing it. I also knew it wasn't going to be story-heavy.

The only part that fell below my expectations was the lack of banter/conversation with your companions. I went with Wynne and Alistair and thought they'd have more to say.

Seems that every DLC has just been about warrior gear. All massive plate, nothing else. Seems like if you're not a warrior you get the shaft when it comes to armor, also not every warrior wants to wear massive plate either.
