Was anyone else dissappointed with RTO?

I won't complain about the price or the content because I never expected too much from a DLC since I saw WK, but it was clear that the reaction on this board would be the way it is.

Good point -- I was pretty let down by this as well.mslc123 wrote...
Seems that every DLC has just been about warrior gear. All massive plate, nothing else. Seems like if you're not a warrior you get the shaft when it comes to armor, also not every warrior wants to wear massive plate either.
There is only 1 mage item in RtO... and you can only get it if you skipped a certain quest in the first 2-3 hours of the game.Sblade wrote...
Err you missed some mages stuff in this DLC....

You do get a lot of coins in Ostagar, though.
I liked fighting all the new Darkspawn enemies, which is something absent in WK (new enemies). At least, I think they're new enemies; this is my first playthrough of DAO.
I hope there are more Shrieks in the vanilla game; RtO only had a few.
And there's a cool new sync kill on the Ogre who killed Cailan. (Not a spoiler; he's in the preview video.) Again, at least I think this sync kill is new. I consider that a pretty cinematic way to give you Duncan's swords.
I do have sympathy for King Cailan. He acted like an idiot in the early game, but through his letters uncovered in RtO, you can see he was actually serious about Ferelden's welfare.

It was disappointing because I was expecting more party banter or conversations. When you went to the spot where you meet Alistair he should have said, "Hey, this is where we first met. Can't believe it feels like it was so long ago, look at how things turned out.". Certain spots should have little dialogue quips from Alistair and Wynne.
The gear, and the last battle was good. Felt really satisfying.
I agree with this, I do think it's an improvement, I tried to quicken the process and took an hour while wardens keep and stone prisoners was more expensive but shorter....they are going the right direction on points vs gameplay and quite frankly I hope they keep it up... If the now just make a 3 hour one or something like that for double the price, ill be up for it....

Would prefer to pay more money but get more interesting content (like Shale or the Wardens Keep side quest).
Interesting content is, for me, new dialouge options, varying side quests (not like this chest/bag- horror), new party members or some interesting NPCs.
If there´s something I had really enough of in the basic game it´s KILLING DARKSPAWN and ARMOUR. Thank you very much.

I will play it tonight when I come home from a trip, but the reaction here is what I expected. People are unhappy.
Who are "people"? If you think it's a general sentment, that's one hell of a selective reading. Actually it seems to me that the ones "unhappy" about RTO are a vocal minority.

I definately support the whole DLC content model since I tend to replay my CRPGs with numerous characters and the DLC brings me professional additions to the game that fit seamlessly with the original and don't stray from the original games intent like community made content often does. It adds yet another facet to a great original game.

I'll use the saved euros to put toward buying the FO/FO2 doublepack in the bargain bin, I only have to add an euro or so for that. I can't find my old discs, bummer.

[Edit]- Also the gift you find there should have also came with some dialogue when you give it to the right person.

Stone prisoner, that was free cut content barely an extra DLC made later.
It was ok. Nothing spectacular. Worth £3.50.
As they said^

As for the DLCs for Dragon age, they are rather tame and you are not really getting any value for you credits, even though it is just 5 dollars, it is to tame overall.

EDIT: also the letters you find in the DLC relating to the king ... is there any quest after that for those letters? Or is it just a little extra backstory for the battle, minus the cutscenes...

the only thing i found dissapointing was the terrain , i hoped it would all take place downstairs on the battleground , but i did love the tower and tunnel part
and the bosslvl ogre was a bit easy (on normal at lvl 17)

I've think the reason Alistair and Wynne spend so much time having conversations about old age and not about Ostagar is that they have both gone senile and think we went for a nice picnic.

I honestly enjoy all of the DLCs, and I'm not going to badmouth the production quality. But there's a limit to being nickel'd and dime'd for an hour's worth of dungeon crawl.
To make me buy more DLC, either the price has to drop 20%, or the content has to increase 50%.
