@VirusCat- I know, just making a comparison since character not made via toolset are more prone to be tagged "generic". And I have to agree with tmp; she is working that armor! O.O I don't see anything off with it. Her face looks a bit more fit for a human, but then again... it fits quite well for a dwarf as well. Lovely work.

I think the reason everyone said your elf man didn't stand out was because I don't think it was clear at the time that he wasn't supposed to. People are used to seeing striking and different ideas on this thread. I think you should have taken that critisism slightly more positively though, after all...isn't that what you were trying to achieve?
If anything, you 'formally announcing' that you aren't going to post anymore after that has probably made people try and say only positive things about any new stuff you post, which isn't very constructive if you ask me.
But keep posting your characters, they are still very pretty and deserving of a place on here

Going by the appearances of Branka and Hespith, it seems the dwarf girls are given somewhat child-like features -- the facial elements (eyes, nose, mouth) located relatively low with eyes at level of ear mid-point, round cheeks, small chin. That's combined with fairly small but flat/wide nose, and lips of normal width.VirusCat wrote...
Thanks guys!

I was mostly trying to get away from the thing about creating chars and not playing them. I don't have time and it's too darn addictive ;D It's not about saying that I'm not happy with the feedback I get, I love this thread. And I love how my Elf looked authentic to you guys. It's unfortunate that I made it look like I was going away 'cause I wasn't happy with the feedback, 'cause that was so not the case.
I do feel that I was clear about my intention with the Elf tho, I stated that I wanted him to fit in, to be the guy next door and look related to Soris and the others. Seems people missed that part
I also felt that I was becoming too much anti the oddness of some chars too, I think the best chars are those that fit into the game, even if they are slightly "unique".
I felt that I needed to ask about constructive critisism on my dwarf now, since it seems like people got the same idea as you did. But I truly love constructive critisism.
I might be good at making dwarves, but I still don't find them dwarven enough!
@mochen
Thankies!
@tmp7704
I'll try something with those guidelines then!

Though, mine will have a devious smirk. You used the toolset, right? I'll be using it solely for access to squinty eyes and evil smirk!

As tmp7704 said... if you're trying to make a lore DF, or simply one who doesn't look like a human... then you can't be afraid to toss away human standards of beauty.VirusCat wrote...
So, let's start with my dwarven lady.
It's easier to do that for the DM, and harder to do for the DF, I know.
Play around to see what tweaks would do. Enlarge the eyes and pupils. Lower the eyes. Broaden the nose or make it more puckish. Try things and see what happens.

@Presence: Holy smokes man. That is one of
the most realistic looking character's I've seen. I love everything
about her, do not change a thing!../../../images/forum/emoticons/love.png Keep up
the amazing work, but take a break and play Awakening for gosh
sakes!!!!! And register your games!!! ../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png
Thanks! Awakening and registering can wait though, am rather
occupied with work, studies and the 3 meters of snow outside, no time to play anything.
@Kittrannia
Something makes it hard for me to concentrate on Neria's face, and no, it's not Sten.
@Hututa
Good work on Polgara.The black hair is definately the better hair choice.
@VirusCat
Welcome back, and great work on the dwarf lady! For some reason I could easily imagine her name as Tanya, carrying a pair of pistols and C4 explosives with her... Perhaps it's the headband-like tatoo on the forehead? I dunno, but she's looking good.
About the "not stand out much" -case, well, meathook put down my thoughts better I would have...

@Everyone
Thanks for the replies
Remade Nanica again, made her cheeks rounder, her nose bigger, her eyes got another form (+ they are now lower) and so on.
Here she is and I'm happy with her. Her nose doesn't look that good in pics maybe, but ingame it's cute

yep, I read your response to him.
And your dwarf definately has a more dwarven look to her now.. An improvement, I would say! The nose especially is very dwarven lady-like, it's cute. Love the last pic.

Atm I'm trying to create a human male. He looks good in the toolset, but adding him as a preset makes his face really odd
Edit: Replacing the morph in the save made him look like I wanted
