Being a bit bored at work I browsed through Nexus for some new ideas.
Found FDB Skins - so I asking if someone is using this mod ?
The following has a bit puzzled me :
Image IPBImage IPB

****1. Unpack FDBskins.rar to My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Packages/Core/Override.

2. Choose a Chargenmorphcfg file and unpack it to My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Packages/Core/Override. Make sure to delete all other chargenmorphcfg.xml files.

- The compilation file will only work if you have all of the following mods installed: Bidelle's Makeup Studio, CC Tints and Tones, Chargen Package, More Hairstyles, and Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors.***

I have this mods all but wth means Point 2 ??? !!! I have only one Chargenmorphcfg file in my override Image IPBImage IPB

Personally, I like to make my own customized Chargenmorphcfg file. Whenever I dl a new appearance mod, I look at its Chargenmorphcfg file, copy the new lines for that mod, and paste them into my customized Chargenmorphcfg file.

Ah - I see. I guess I like the idea. Needs probably a bit time to compare the files. And after  copying it in the customized Chargenmorphcfg file simple delete the other one - right ?

Yeah you should only have 1 Chargenmorphcfg file in your entire override folder.

I like doing it myself, so I know exactly what I have. Also, I'm gathering more and more appearance mods, and I can't expect the mod authors to have a suitable Chargenmorphcfg file for every mod combination under the sun. And I'm afraid the mod author might make a mistake or typo in the Chargenmorphcfg file.

@LadyAly - Try this for the chargenmorph compilation. This makes it easy, and it works:

Long live the pretty character thread!

amen to that! I think I agree with mochen on this subject...why is it even being brought up again anyway? I thought we'd got past that :police:

@ Arik7, 2 handsome dudes there! Good looking in a classical kinda way.
@ Wyldsong, did you make her only in the cc? I'm very impressed. She's got lovely eyes <3

Thank you.  Chiseled looks is exactly what I was going for.  I gave both characters my chin....

I got frustrated with the elf, so I tweaked at Kasha again, her face was bothering me, it felt too long and narrow, and in the thumbnail pics it was glaring. So, I made some adjustments. Noww, someone tie my hands together so I leave her alone now.

@Arik7 nice warriors - both, I'm not as half as good with manly chars

@Wyldsong she reminds me on *Dr. Cuddy* this woman in the TV Series Dr. House - interesting

@catt128 Sexbomb XD

@that_one_guy02 She looks sweet and innocent. Still some on her features are a bit.. odd. Maybe the eyes are too big

@LadyJess I agree with y.h. in this case - this is the best version yet

Worked a bit on my MaryAnn - but I'm still not 100 % satisfied

Thanks, I'm going to leave her be now I think. Otherwise I might mess her up. That hair color in the top image is the one I can never find in the toolset, I LOVE it.

@LadyAly : what about him looks unusual? Just curious. ^_^ Don't get too many chances to create characters with the toolset.

Here's another male (though its an elf mage this time)

Edit: Thinking about changing his tat to either black or a dark green. Which would be better?

@LadyAly: send a complaint letter to Bioware, it's their work :-P Methinks my elven female (elvess? elfina? womelf? whatever, pick one) looks lovely with that, fits perfectly.

@Wyldsong: thx, I like your Tsyndria too. Hail goth elven girls!

@etc: Adding thoughts to the conversation a couple of pages before, as a famous biker once said, "life is not a popularity contest". As I see things, the main purpose of creating facemorphs is self-amusement. Therefore, it isn't that significant, what others think, what matters is that the author enjoys it. Naturally, constructive critiques can be useful. Plus, there's no need to get all emotional, as that whatshisname guy with a wall of text.

LOL those are my favorite bits of him. :kissing:

Nothing else seemed to fit (and I'm not particularly fond of short hair tis why I used a facemorph for alistair giving him longer hair.)

Sorry, I can't help but comment on this. To everyone who just wants to post morphs, please disregard this.

dadarkkami wrote...

Why do you guys do this? Post pics I mean. Then you get angry when a person is inspired by your work and aspires to not only replicate it but make it better?

First, and most prominent, stop bring up old drama. It's over and done with.

dadarkkami wrote...
Seriously, why are you posting/sharing your work?

Are you challenging others to make better work? Is that it? If so, then you need to understand some people are going to be able to do a better job than you. You can't get angry when a person takes your concept and then makes it better or shows you what they would do to make it better in their opinion.
OR
Are you trying to encourage others to be inspired by the work you produce? If this is the case then no one in this forum should feel embarrassed. I don't get some of these comments at all.

If those are the only options we have, and we're dealing in absolutes, I'm sure most people would say "neither". We're here to have fun, show others our work, and get some praise and hopefully some tips to make it better (constructive criticism versus outright insulting). There is a hint of inspiration and desire to inspire to it, but in reality it's just something to have fun with. Out of all the characters I show, there are dozens that never make the cut. It's a proud moment to finish a design and show it to my friends on this thread. It makes me happy so I do it.

dadarkkami wrote...Some of you need to learn this difference between tributes that praise the work you do and what plagiarism is. If I take a character in a super hero game and make him Green with Green colored energy attacks and call him "Jade Fist" then specifically state where I draw the inspiration from (Green Lantern) I would think the creator of Green Lantern would be thrilled that his ideas and vision inspired a person to replicate said character.

Unrealistic. There's a difference between painting a woman with black hair and cloning the Mona Lisa. In the case you discuss, it'd be as if you wrote a about a green character with green energy beams and called him "Green Latern".

Besides, you clearly stated above that we should be okay with outright copies (plagarism) just as we should be okay with inspiration (tributes).

And I'm pretty sure the creator would be pissed that youy copied him, as well as confused why people didn't realize it was an outright copy and hate it.

dadarkkami wrote...
Do you think Cameron gets upset or happy when he sees Na'vi costumes at conventions?

Cameron is a megalomanic who took ten years to design a movie that is essentially "blue pocahantas" with guns. He probably does get pissed.

dadarkkami wrote...
This is not meant to be a flame or troll post. I just want to see this thread return to its original purpose.

Then let it continue to do so and not reopen old wounds.

Sorry I like to argue, especially when the foundation is more unstable than a highrise after an earthquake.

The Dalish drama continues. I kind of like this one though. Prim and proper, all porcelain ...she might survive this process

@ Wyldsong - I agree with meathook. her eyes are stunning!
@ Mlai00 - Hmm I guess Calli's skin does look kinda greasy. I don't think I used that complexion though so maybe it's just the lighting in the shot?
@ Lady Jess - I thought Kasha couldn't get any better, but I think the wider face is an improvement!
@ LadyAly - MaryAnn looks better with the thinner jaw. Keep working on her, I think she could turn out really well :)
@ Ryzaki - Wow! I really like the tattoo on your mage, it's almost glowing. What a great feature! Nice work with his eyes and brow, I think that is the best part of his face.
