@ meathook - I agree with what petehog said about the eyebrows. I do like to make the eyebrows a slightly different shade to the hair, but maybe that's a bit too much?
@ VirusCat - hmm, not sure about the change. I think it was better before.
@ Creid-X - He's a dashing looking chap. Nice design!
@ erratic - She looks good. Do you reckon we could get a screenshot of her face a bit closer up and facing the camera? It's a little hard to judge the proportions right now.

This is my new Anders design :)

He looks nice but and very young (16-17)

So I finally began serious attempts at my *own* female and wow, now I see the appeal of the Toolset! Major kudos to all of you creating female characters (either through the toolset and/or the in-game generator). Ugh, it's hard XP

@Pode8
Hmm, can't see what you mean there :S Maybe it's cause the second pic is from the CC and she's talking? She's "making a face" sorta.
Thanks tho!

@Petehog
Have you made some odd promise not to comment on anything I post? :P You often post a bit after me and you comment on other people's stuff... but never mine. You have to know what a fan of yours I am ;P
About Lanaya.. I think the fact that the eyes are so apart makes her look more elvish.
Tho I do think you might have to make changes to your faces now to not make everyone look the same.

@Meathook
Haha, that character is so much alike Payne that she might be one of the best celeb lookalikes I've seen,... and still it wasn't even on purpose! xD

@LadyAly
Hollow cheeks? Oo I can't see what you mean :S I'm kinda "against" hollow cheeks so I never give my chars any :S Or that's what I thought.

Edit:

Pic after harrowing, not changed anything. Does her cheek still look hollow to you?

Also, my new project! Meet Terenas, the orlesian warden. OLD GUY OMG! :P
He's a reaver, and I imagine him using others life energy to keep himself alive and still strong :P

An old guy on this thread! omg how dare you!

Seriously though, I am getting bored of creating 'pretty' designs. Everyone on here has such a narrow vision of what pretty is anyway. If someone's character doesn't fit into these parameters, it instantly gets picked to pieces.

I find myself less inclined to post any new designs here thesedays as the negative feedback often vastly outweighs the positive. Most people won't even attempt to say anything positive at all. This annoys me.

I've been on here a while now, and I have noticed we don't get many new people contribute regularly to this thread. Probably because if someone new posts their chatracter, straight away it's "you've done this wrong, and this isn't very good...etc" how about a bit more positive feedback people? Tell others what they are doing right as well.

It's almost a relief posting a character on the ugly or freaky threads. Creativity knows no bounds there. Also I feel my designs are appreciated much more.

It took me ages to recreate Anders in the toolset. But there is no recognition of this. All I got was 'nothing wrong with the original' 'eyebrows are wrong' 'not manly enough' etc.

Now I'm all for constructive criticism, but how about saying what you like also? It's quite disheartening.

I've been thinking about starting another thread. One that isn't focused on "pretty" characters. Just characters and constructive critisism, no matter what type of face they have. And then you can post "This is Terenas, he's supposed to look old and worn, but also strong and driven. What can I do to make him look more so?" and such... Anyone think that's a good idea? :?

Or this is Kashaphoenixblahblah" and she is supposed to have glowy tattoos and big eyes:D

Might I suggest it be a "show off your style" theme, that way it focuses on the creators styles rather than proprotions and ideals of correctness?

@VirusCat I guess the lower part of her face has irritate me, but you are right - she is stunning - have I mentioned she is an exotic beauty - yes I did ;P

@mochen I'm sorry you feel that way :(
Your *Anders* is wonderful made and I like his design very much, not even something to criticize- if it wouldn't be Anders ... Its my imagine maybe - but Anders was constantly on a escape, going through a lot as an apostate - and your Char looks far to young and in a special way to innocent for Anders.
So you should try to understand - I can give any positive or negative feedback as long as it is *Anders* MEH - I have problems to describe the way I feel if I looking at him. If he would called be *Sam* I would say I adore him :(

@Petehog - it wasn't easy to get good screens from her - so I tried it at the Castle and in Ostagar as well.

Ahahaha I must go spread the glory of HISTER to that other thread!

@ Lady Aly:

Ooh she's pretty. But maybe a wider/rounder chin for her. And even though I'm quite sick of that hairstyle by now, it does suit her. There just aren't enough wavy hair mods, so everyone flocks to this hair.

@Mlai00 I agree about the hairstyle and I tried really nearly all on her - but this one has fit her best...some other wavy longer hair mods would be nice - I'm not a fan of this one btw.

Another point against this hairstyle is you have some problems to get good screens from  the side.

Ok, I can definitely see things a bit better now that you have provided a frontal screenshot and a side profile screenshot.Overall, the proportions are accurate.

The eyes, the nose, the lips, the chin..seems to be in the right areas.

The only thing I would probably change...and this is...just me.

Is the eyes. I can tell you used PAngel's eyes.

I have mixed feelings about PAngel's eyes but here's the deal.

If you look at your face, it is more of a pale face.

The issue with PAngel's eyes it that it has too strong of a black border around the edge of the eyes.The eyes are more of a dark color with a black border around the eyes. The black border around the eyes counteract against the pale skin. It's akin to looking at a photograph and seeing someone painting dark outlines around it....it loses that realism. I think the face might look quite different if you used the default eyes or if you used Pt_eye_dva from Pineapple Tree's eyes. That particular eye from his set I think would work well on this face.

The other thing is the tattoo. The issues with tattoos is that people began to fixate on the tattoo and not on the face as a whole. Take a look at every single design that Mochen makes for her female faces. She either uses no tattoos or very, very light colored tattoos. We don't use much tattoos. It's because a tattoo distracts the viewer from the face. If anything, I would make the tattoo much, much lighter so really you can bring out the elegant features of your character.

You know what would be cool.

If we had a thread called "Most bad a.s.s. looking character or most toughest character you have made".

None of this panzy cutesy things but something more bad a.s.s. Something that looks like he can hurt somebody. :wizard:

@LadyAly

No problemo. Like I mentioned before though, the face is perfectly proportionate. That's the hard part and you got it done right.

What face preset did you use for her, LadyAly? Or did you make her face entirely in the toolset (not sure how one does that, but whatever)? It reminds me a little of Morrigan's, in some ways.
