Hmm I like the  skin tone on the right better. Maybe keep the skin the same color but remove the tattoos. Let's see how that looks.

But here's something that may help as well. It might help to round out the features. I drew a black outline with a pen to sort of show what I am talking about. Again, this is just my opinion.

That's exactly the design Hister was inspired by. I originally gave his preset filename a faux-Arabic name.

@Mlai00:  I'm sorry!! I'm kind of OCD about things and when VirusCat mentioned the mumpy cheeks I started tweaking him some more. You were right, I *do* have widescreen zoom distortion, but he did have a little chipmunk action going on, too. I HAD to fix that before I threw him out into the cold, hard world.

There have been so many contributions since I last checked in...it's hard to keep track of them all! 

@LadyAly:  I think you've got an amazing model going with Daireen.  Just like everybody else's projects, I'm sure she'll morph over time, but I thought her first version was a stunning start.

@Petehog:  Lanaya looks awesome!  I don't believe that EVERY character in the game needs to be attractive, but her vanilla model always bothered me for some reason.  Your Alistair redesign is very good.  It's still HIM, but it's him in another 5-7 years, after his face has chiseled out and lost some of its residual babyfat.  (Plus he has tighter skintone, which, as a man in his 20's he *should* have.)  He looks very handsome.  I also like the new eyetexture and tint you gave him.  It's a true hazel color with subtle hues. 

@VirusCat:  Terenas the Orlesian Warden is so different from all the other designs here...in a good way.  It's always cool to see people move outside the box.    And you posted her a while back, but your elf with the cornrows caught my eye.  I know she's your PC, but when I saw her I thought, "That's how Velanna *should* have looked."  *nods*

LOL.  Alistair is a tough one to stay away from, but you can make it through on friendship if you're strong enough to resist the flirty prompts.  One dialogue tree that I think may close all future romance prompts would be the one where you talk about his virginity.  If you tell him it's "cute" then respond to his "I feel luckier" comment with, "I wouldn't, if I were you," then he'll say, "Ah...point taken."  If you haven't already played it out, the "you're handsome" prompt will disappear.  (Ouch.)  I'm not sure if it will eliminate future romantic prompts from Duncan's Shield or post-Goldanna conversation, though. 

One thing I should warn you about: if he's at 100% adore and you haven't romanced him, then he seems to go into what I call "duty mode" after you complete the Goldanna questline.  His behavior changes to that of being king and having dumped your character while still in love with her.  Taking control of his avatar will prompt the love endearments, but if you click him for conversation he gives that gruff, unfriendly "Ask away!" greeting.  (Apparently he's not too happy about being in the friendzone...poor bugger.)  I got that far on my last playthrough with PS3 and just couldn't see it through...my character ended up putting out.  But then she spared Loghain, so Alistair still got the short end of the stick. 

BTW, your elf girls are beautiful.  Do you customize your own tatts or are those a mod?

@NoAngel89 I know a lot liking this hairstyle - I don't. It looks like Barbie to me - about her facial features, in the small pictures they  are looking well done - but I would like to see a big one frontal shot.

Okay - third try - Tried to make her face a bit rounder like you showed me with the pencil - Tattoo is back but very light, therefore the lip color a bit darker

It wouldn't necessarily improve the design but it would give it a different feel.

There are typically two types of women. There's the cute girl and there's the "fine" girl.

The "cute" look is more like, "Oh that girl is so cute!"

And the "fine" look is more like, "Damn!"

If you want to give her a bit of a "finer" look, I would drop the nose down about one or two clicks down. It's called "Nose Height"  But if you're looking for the "cute" look, don't change anything.

I like both - but Daireen shouldn't be a *cute* girl

@ LadyAly - Your last try is really good. I love the eye texture you used. She is a nice design for sure. Oh and you didn't upset me at all with your anders comment. I really don't have a problem with constructive criticism. The only thing that was bothering me (and it has been for a while) is the lack of positive feedback on peoples designs. I think it's just as important to know what you are doing right as well as what could be changed.

ah thank you, I thought this hair style would fit perfectly as a Cousland symbol, shes an old design, I got plenty of of old designs I've made, so I figure it be cool to share some, I really wanted to give her a mediveal knight type beauty feel to her, strong and restraint in action. Joanna the Scarlet Knight. And, I've kinda noticed that, I think people forgot just to have fun with these character designs, and i think this forum might of forgotton just alittle. If people don't like it, thats cool, at least we get to show our work, peace guys

@Petehog: Yay! Has the Guardian changed at all? I got DA Redesigned (basically) just for him... love what you did to him. Oh, and Cammen too! :happy:

@Mochen: Wow @ Tessa. I'm not a huge fan of the long hairstyle (I tried making a Naomi Campbell look-a-like but the hair looked way to stiff) but you really do make it work! I might give that hair another chance! Love your choice of colouring

I will be releasing 6.8 sometime today. Even if you are not looking to change the appearance of NPCs, I would still recommend downloading Dragon Age Redesigned. It is because there is a feature in Dragon Age Redesigned which has new eye textures and new makeup textures. It should appeal to anyone who has a remote interest in character design (which might be 99% of anyone who posts in this thread). You will see what I'm talking about shortly.

Sorry been out of town for a week. To those who PM'd me about Echos eyes heres a better shot. Its hard to find good lighting, but I think it works out well in Denerim (spelling).
