@Galson: she is pretty, and the expression gives her character. I can't comprehend why anyone would stick to boundaries like Tolkien's concept. The only limit is your imagination.

Okay, this probably makes the hair stand up on your backs by now, promise this is the last pic of her in this thread. Many thanks to Petehog for showing, Newbypower for creating the face replacer mod. Also, all feedback from you guys is much appreciated, even the ones without influence ;-)

Warning, huge image:

Well, she's a rogue after all ;) Nah, I don't try to confine myself. It's just LOTR is the book I grew up with and my all time favourite, so if anyone talks about elves I see Tolkien elves first. That doesn't mean different concepts are bad of course and as you can see, she looks far from elves of Middle Earth or Valinor. I gave her Sindarin name though.

I personally don't like the idea of having tattoos on the face, looks more like a facepaint. Tood bad you can't put tattoos anywhere else, with me being a huge fan of tramp stamps...

@Galson: I know what you mean. It took me a while to get used to the DA:O elves aswell.... Not necessarily because of the circumstances, but because it is said that they are considered beautiful by humans - something I absolutely could NOT agree with, seeing the ingame elves^^. It's very apparent when creating elves in the CC: the pointy faces, pursed lips and crooked eyes make them look more like mice than anything else. So it's always nice to see when people actually succeed in creating a decent-looking elf. :)

@Wolfheart: You widened the nose a little, didn't you? Looks MUCH better!! She has a very strong face, suggesting an equally strong personality. Somehow she reminds me of a Norse woman from the tales... or a Valkyrie^^

@Galson: Course, LOTR is among my fav books as well. Was just speaking in general, I see the difference, she fits the city elf role perfectly. Regarding tats, you can place them on the scalp or the body mesh as well, with some tweaking.

@Caladhiel: ty, at last a nice compliment :-) This is the original CC-created face, exported to a mor file with the face replacer mod. Only changed the hairstyle and tattoo colour. The toolset replica you have seen before will never be as good as the original.

I adore her! Only thing that stands out to me in a bad way is the eyecolor :S I can't really place the feeling I get. She's very well made anyway <3

@Galson

Aaaah, what a character! She looks SO fitting :D

@Caladhiel

Those elves are some of the best I've seen tbh. I love how you could make them pretty (and they're both DAMN pretty) and still fit them into the setting of DAO. I think that Nelaros is about the only pretty elf that BioWare made so it's only a good thing that your guy resembles him ;) Maybe Damian is a little too pink around the eyes? But otherwise SOLID work :3

@VirusCat: thank you. Thought about that, maybe it's a little too bright. On the other hand The vanilla green is too dark ehh :-) Might do a unique eye texture, it's quite easy.

@WolfheartHU She is wonderful made - but I have the same problem like VirusCat - her emerald eyes. It is probably my taste - but the color is so unnatural in compare to her face. Still - awesome Dalish :)

@Galson She fits perfect - very very nice :)

@Caladhiel I mentioned it before I guess ( to lazy to look back ) but its awesome what you do with the Toolset XD *thumbies up*

@Wolfheart: As the eyecolour seems to be an issue, how about replacing it entirely with something that blends in with the tat and make-up? I'm thinking about something dark blue-violet-purpleish... If you're willing to try something different ;)

@VC: *bows* Wow, you really got me blushing just there. Thank you! :)
EDIT: You're right, he is a little pink around the eyes. I'll try some blending, maybe it helps...

@LadyAly: Thanks! :) I'm still learning how to combine the different settings and things and am still finding it a little confusing... Aber wie man so schön sagt: Übung macht den Meister! ;)

Ever tried to create a male gay dalish?

Voronwe will most likely hit on Zevran at some point ;)

Hmm, it seems like creating characters is becoming more fun than the game itself :> I haven't used any mods or morphs (except for vibrant colours and natural bodies + changed Leliana and Morrigan's faces) as I haven't got used to the Toolset yet. I'll certainly try it in the future,

Weeeeeeeeeeee - VirusCat - Leliana with Freckles - so awesome - <3

@Galson - Well to be honest - you have overdone this in my eyes - a gay man hasn't to have pink eyes and hair ... *sry* The facial features not bad, though

@Caladhiel: yeah, will try some different colours. Darn, look at an adult male playing with dolls :-)

With some photoshop help, you can do anything you want. A quickly done (tad corny) example:

@VirusCat: wow, that's the first NPC morph I really like. Close to the vanilla Leliana, natural, excellent job with all changes.

@Galson: don't know if I should write LOL or ARGH :-)

Yeah, that Dragon Age Replacer is pretty dang awesome. As for the eye situation, may I suggest using the color "Ice" by Bioware's stock eyes. I think it might work better with the color scheme that you have right now. Pineapple Tree has a version of "Ice" as well but the bluish color of the original Bioware "Ice" eyes would work great. You can add it by editing your .mor file.

Also consider changing the tattoo. Strong tattoos divert the attention away from a beautiful face and towards the tattoo. It's the equivalent of seeing a beautiful woman, but seeing a black diamond on her cheek. Yes it might work, but most of the time it limits a great design. If I recall, you make a lot of great tattoo designs and know the ways to customize it. What I would do is have the tattoo exactly as it is on the forehead but clear out the ones on the cheeks. While it is an excellent design, too many tattoos on a face can distract the viewer. Also make her hair just one more shade darker of blonde.

@Nuala and Mochen

Thanks!

Totally agree with you on this. Dragon Age is still one of my most favorite RPGs of all time.

But the fact that I am still playing this game and tinkering with the toolset is a testament to how fun it is to use the toolset. I haven't bought another game since November and I'm still having a lot of fun. I love games that come with toolsets because when the game is done, you get to create your own world. And that can be more fun than the game itself because it brings out your creative side. I've always dreamed of working in the videogame industry and this is one of my funnest hobbies.

@Petehog: You honour me with your opinion, thank you. Have to note that I generally like your work as well, the reasons I don't use redesigned are a) low disk space B) your morphs are too flawless for my taste, I like to have some average/unattractive faces too.

Indeed, the face replacer gives you many possibilities to play around with different combinations. For eyes, will try your suggestion as well, though somehow I got my mind set on green. We'll see about the tattoo, again, variations are close to infinite. Would need more free time to realize everything I'm planning to do.

Truthfully I lost count for my walkthrough on this game. Perhaps the graphics and storyline. But I couldn't agree more with Petehog and WolfheartHU. Seeing our creations walking and talking around ingame always keeps me excited, along with other artists posting their stunning creations.

@ Wolfheart - I would like to offer my opinion, but I cant see your pics unfortunately :(

@ Comrade Bork - It's hard to judge characters with just the avatar pics, could you possibly provide some in game shots?

@ VampireCommando - Same as above.

@ Petehog and Galson - I agree that designing characters is just as much fun as playing the game itself. Dragon Age has become one of my all time favorite games, and I think the character creation options are great and definitely contributed to the enjoyment. Thank you for the holy toolset Bioware!

Ref creation>gameplay: I know what you talk about, in the last weeks have only played the game for a few minutes, to check how new things look and make screenshots.

@mochen: would gladly hear it. Try this one: http://www.dragonage...age.php?id=2052

Wow, looking very nice Petehog. The maturity in the face complements that hairstyle, it gives her a cuteness without making the character look childish.

Personally I'm still not sure what I think of the perfectly smooth skin textures. I tend to prefer slightly fading in the wrinkle texture in some areas, but that's just me. She looks great - nice job.

She's very pretty; i can't however help but feel the eye setup is reaching/crossing the point of overkill -- what i mean is, this sort of smokey makeup is used to create illusion of elongated, narrow eye because it's considered attractive and regular eyes usually don't have this shape, but are much rounder and/or smaller. When a woman is fortunate enough to actually have this eye shape (Adriana Lima comes to mind) you'll rarely see her with makeup like this simply because she has no need to fake it, and because combined effect can end up like these plastic surgeries gone wrong rather than 'even more' attractive.

Of course, lot of it boils down to personal preference, too.
