Used my PaintShop Pro 8.../../../images/forum/emoticons/happy.png

I just added a blue border around 1 pic and took a second shade of blue and smeared back and forth till I got a nice mess. Then I ran that through some built in filters called 'Polished Stone' in Texture Effects and 'Dialate' in Edge Effects a few times till I got what I liked.
It was just a matter of changing the hue for each character then

I keep meaning to learn how to do things in Paint Shop Pro.. but I never get around to it.
