@Mochen

Good point. I will take your advice and add some wrinkles.

@tmp7044

You got it. I'll see if I can make the makeup less crazy. By the way, thanks for your feedback for the Zev design. You were really helpful. You too Mochen!

It's too bad the Bioware boards don't allow uploading custom avatars... ;)

I made her for a collection of presets I'm working on:

Her eyes look very small compared to he mouth, other than that- she's a solid piece of work :3

What's the idea for your presets? :) Just some random ones you like or...?

Thanks for the advice! I definitely appreciate the constructive criticism :) I'm trying to offer a couple of different presets for every race and gender that mix aesthetics with character. I hope to create some pcs that aren't overshadowed quite so much by the beauty of Dragon Age Redesigned's Lelianna and Morrigan.

Can't quite put finger on it, but i actually prefer the smaller eyes version Posted Image  Maybe it is just personal preference, it's really hard to tell but because she doesn't have eye makeup (rare enough and nice to see thing) smaller size of the eyes feels more natural and gives her some unique character. Really cute.

Well, one other way to do it would be making the mouth just a tad bit smaller :3 Or tweak the eye-shape a little :3 Just some pointers. I like her both ways actually ^^

It's a good idea, don't think about Redesigned tho. Not everyone uses it (or.. I like to think that some have more... colorful personalities on their NPCs than that) and they can't "overshadow" a good personal design imho.

I agree with tmp7704. I wouldn't change a thing. I think she looked better in the first picture.

But what do I know. Maybe Viruscat is right and I really don't know what I'm doing.

By the way guys, is Darkspawn Chronicles worth getting? I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for mine to work.

@ WolfheartHu - I really like the concept, perhaps in my eyes her nose is just a tad small compared to her mouth and eyes. But thats just my personal preference. Overall nice design!

@ Schratty - She is a beautiful design! I too prefer the 'before' pic. I dont know maybe she looks more realistic? She is definitely original looking. Great work!

Yes, I will be getting Darkspawn Chronicles :) even if it's not very good I can't resist anything dragon age related! hehe

kinda what mochen said, and it doesn't seem to be too terribly bugged either, go figure. but something that keeps popping up is that hits / spells take a few seconds to register the damage / cast. I was twiddling my thumbs, but it doesn't seem terribly bugged.

Agreed. I think it has something to do with the shape and size of the nose that just make the smaller eyes "work" ^_^

@ Petehog, Kayla has a beautiful face structure. But yeah, I think TMP7044 is right about the makeup.. it's just a bit unnatural.
@ Schratty, Before is the best for me too. Dunno why. It just 'works'

Yep Mochen I feel the same way, I can't resist anything bioware anymore... even if it's not working properly right now!!

p.s. - Sensing a certain tension between VirusCat and Petehog, It's been rumbling on for a while now. Lets keep it friendly on the thread though huh?

All righty. Took the advice of TMp7044, mochen and meathook. This is my elfy with significantly less makeup.

@Schratty wonderful natural Char - and I prefer the Version *Before* I wouldn't change anything

@Petehog MUCH better without the heavy make up - she is from her appearance a natural type of person - probably the hairstyle signalize this, too

@all about the DLC = I think I will pass on it :(

1.) I haven't touched the strange gift DLC - HAH - so I know I can resist

2.) I guess I can't kill my comrades and think as a filthy darkspawn or kill unarmed elves in the Alienage :S

3.) 3 days left and I'm away *YAY*

XD - I just compared both pictures Petehog - and in my head I gave her a glamorous hairstyle and dark red lips - I bet the eye make up would work then *lol*

yay thread derailment.

ladyaly: I didn't touch the gifts, either. kinda stupid idea for DLC. I personally like seeing alistair suffer, and occasionally morrigan . leliana and the alienage did make me a sad panda though :crying:.

schratty: I dunno, something seems a touch off on both. maybe make the lips a hair thinner? *shrug* good morphs though.

I've been playing Darkspawn Chronicles for a bit. I love the ogre. And I love the shriek. If I ever mess up and they die, I reload the game because they are so awesome.

The game reminds me of another game I used to play.

There is a game called Overlord. This game sort of reminds me of it. Much more linear though.

There were some small moments which gave me chuckles and reminded me of my favorite game, Dungeon Keeper 2. Oh nostalgia....someone really needs to step up and make a Dungeon Keeper 3. Or at the very least...if they had a toolset, someone should make a Dungeon Keeper 2 Redesigned. ha ha....

Sigh. Darkspawn Chronicles doesn't have the same charm as the two aforementioned games. But I guess you always get what you pay for.

Still worth every penny of the five dollars for the DLC.

@ Shratty:

Great minds think alike! It seems we all agree that the 'before' version looks better.

@ Petehog:

Yup, that particular girl definitely looks better without the eyeshadow. Her style is a small departure from your usual, as well. She looks more 'cute' than 'beautiful.' Cool.

I actually prefer your male characters, on the whole, though. That's where all your creativity seems to shine through. IMHO, you should try not sticking to formula so much, with your females.

I have the same feeling. The before pic do look better, but still something throws me off a bit.

As for the "tension". I was just stating my opinions like EVERYONE does. Just because I happen to not like a popular persons morphs makes me mean and such it seems :)

I think Petehog's char look like a doll. She's not that pretty in my eyes, and sort of lacks that "spark" thta I want in characters. Am I not allowed to state that just bacause it's the popular Petehog I am talking about?
I think it's the eyes that bothers me the most. DAO's original eyes might not be very real, but they have more soul than Petehog's versions imho.

Just my own opinions that I state just as people tell me that my woman-char looks manly or that Muradin wasn't "PC-material". And such. It's just someones opinion and no one else might think the same. Whatever someone thinks, you should be able to ignore that and be proud of what you have created IF you like your own characters. This applies to me too, I know.

... or very shortly *personal taste and preference*

Everyone can say everything here - but all should take it as that what it is... a PERSONAL opinion on a design.

A German saying is *Art and beauty lies in the eye of the beholder* and nothing is as true as this - especially in this thread.
