@yasuraka.hakkyou - How can I be discouraged by comments that I explicitly asked for? ;)

@VC - Actually, strict was exactly what I was aiming for. She's a kind of lady, who with raised brow and pointed look can communicate quite a lot. But maybe you're right and I see her more like rogue/bard type than 2H-wielding heavy hitter. :P

Big thanks to all of you. I'll do a little tweaking tomorrow and see how it turns out.

Yeah, I guess I would see her as a Rogue-type rather than a warrior :) I really like the difference between the strict, tiny mouth, pointy nose and small eyes to that "big" face :3 I don't think it would have worked as well with another kind of hairstyle, but you made it work in my eyes ^^

@mochen: nice to see yet another different notion, would be very dull if we all saw things the same way.

@Thiev: Can't provide much useful critique, I like most morphs that have a bit of soul, you have done a good job. I like that cold look in her eyes. And yes, the nose is just a tiny bit too sharp.

Let me introduce Kitty. Yeah, not very original, but hey, she has cat eyes and all that. I plan to release the face sooner or later. So, if any of you have improvement ideas, they are welcome. Any tips about the black patch under the mouth? Can't seem to get rid of it.

I don't know if tweakign the blend would help that patch, or if it's just the lighting or whatever it is. Much annoying!

Kitty looks... well, silly ;) Sorry but she does ^^ I would lower the eyes a bit if I were you. To give a little more of a "compact face" feeling like a real cat :3

@WolfheartHU

Here is my suggestion on the eye texture. If you look at the border of your image, you'll see a slight yellow border. That yellow border is a nice color that I feel would work well and give it a more cat-like appearance.

Posted Image

If you are using Photoshop or Gimp, maybe make the color slightly less saturated and change the hue to those colors and it would have a very smooth effect.

(by the way, that's not my cat. I don't have pets)

@Viruscat: Ah yes, Kitty is not a heavyweight brain-wrestler :-) Course, lower eyes, thanks for that. The shadow might be caused by the elven blend. Guess the face shape is more or less okay.

@Petehog: thx, nice advice. Right, some darker yellow would look better, will change it. The one I used is actually a black panther's eye. Might be useful in stg else later.

@ Comrade Bork - It's hard to judge characters with just the avatar pics, could you possibly provide some in game shots?

I have it for the Xbox so those are the only images I can get. :(

I am also very upset that my best looking characters are the ones that will never upload (unless a patch comes for the 360 adressing the issue). <_<

@ Schratty - Definitely cute, and very young looking! Other's have already advised you on the things you might change so I will just say I agree. Your personal style has already become apparent in the couple of morphs you have posted. It's great to see new ideas. Keep up the fine work :)
@ Thiev - I'm sorry the reason I haven't commented on your design is because I am unable to view imageshack right now :(
@ Comrade Bork - Ahh Posted Image that's annoying. oh well

ahh thanks LadyAly! You're right, very nice design from Thiev. The pointy nose gives her lots of personality. To me she looks strong willed, with a sharp tongue and quick wit. Cool char for sure!

@Wolfheart: I like the idea, and you definitely chose the right hairstyle! Maybe if you tweaked the eyebrows a little to give her a more mysterious 'look'? Make them a little more angled? Sort of like Thiev's girl. And I think a darker skin tone would probably suit her - at least that was my first association when I saw her (the cat/ rogue/ mysteriousness/dusk/ blending in association^^). Apart from that, would it be possible to add lashes to the lower lid? Considering the upper lid is so heavily 'ornamented' with lashes + eyeshadow, the lower lid seems a little undistinctive. ;)

@Thiev: Actually, I wouldn't change too much - maybe just the nose, widen the tip a little. I like the way she looks, she has personality. And you don't need perfect features to be pretty ;)

I have been both impressed and amused by alot of the work people have shared here, so I figured i'd contribute a bit as well. This is a couple of my characters Richard(human noble) and Gawain(dwarf noble).

@Caladhiel: wow, you must have a third eye, thank you for the guidance. Done as you recommended, I'm quite fond of the result. Regarding the lashes, they are there but can't be seen from the black eyeliner. Issue resolved, by expanding the tat a little. I think I haven't mentioned yet, your cat lady is just great as she is, you have a quite unique style in char creation.

@AvatarHunter: Gawain looks cool, reminds me of a viking or a gall warrior. Well done.

@Everyone: I officially apologize for the first Kitty pic, swear I wasn't under the influence of anything :-)

And now for something completely different:

I'm grateful for all advices, and if you see some flaw, don't hold yourself back. BTW the black patch is smaller, but persists, so she looks better in dimly lighted areas.

@AvatarHunter - I second earlier comment, Gawain looks every inch a noble warrior.

@WolfheartHU - My first impression would be that she looks kinda sad... because of brows maybe? But it can be just me biased towards more strict looking characters.

As a proof - my Orlesian Battlemage. My first idea of Orlesian Warden was actually female, with heavy makeup, thick accent and totally b****y attitude, but I failed spectacularly at creating such morph and went with different idea and guy instead=]

Not presently. The preset package I'm working on is still very much a WIP.

@ Thiev: Another very nice character design. He looks like he'd be kind of smug ;) And this is purly me nit-picking, but the bridge of his nose seems like it's maybe a tad too narrow.

Okay, here's a side-by-side of the small changes I've made to the second morph. And to clear up any confusion, irides is plural for iris :)

@Thiev: hmm maybe. Since touching the eye/brow position sliders messes up the intended looks, the best way would be to not use normal eyebrows, and draw a tattooed one. However, I think a lot depends on face animations. Here she is cross/satisfied/happy:

Hmm, did you model Richard out of a Fergus Morph? He truly looks like Fergus' brother which gives him a big + in my book :3 (I just love when the chars fit into their origins). I have nothign negative to say about him in any way O:
Gawain (Nice name!) looks like he could fit his origin too :D Awesome! I'm not a fan of that beard, but everything on him looks totally solid. Nice work :3

@WolfheartHU
I think her mouth is bothering me. I would slide it back and maybe lower the corners a bit. She's different for sure :P

@Thiev
I can't understand why dark skintones are so hard for BioWare. They always looks so blotchy :P Nevermind! Really good elf! I find elven males to be the hardest to make and you made a fantastic one :3

@eucatastrophe
His eyeshape is the only thing I would change. It gives him a surprised expression that doesn't fit him at all. If you have the toolset and want to keep the shape of the eyes, making the iris bigger or giving him some squint is two options. :3 If not, well, not much to do...

@Schratty
Loving the subtler shine option :3 I would perhaps remove the makeup completely (I guess you use some kind of complexion or something? I don't like that the lipstick is sorta.. outside the lips' edges) but well, that's just me I guess. ^^

@AvatarHunter - Both are fitting Char's to the Lore and Origin story ^^ *thumbs up*

@Thiev Ooooh - a dark elf - only his lips looking a bit too rosy ? Maybe ? Could be this terrible old screen I have here in office too - sometimes it messes with colours *lol*

@Schratty LOVE the subtler shine version - she is very cute and kind looking :) Good work !

@WolfheartHU Very unusual Idea and Character - interesting concept as well. I agree with VirusCat about the mouth, though

@eucatastrophe Yeah - change his eyes and he will be a very well made dalish elf - just right now he looks a bit...like he couldn't count to 5 >.<

@VirusCat Yes I actually did create Richard with the intent of making him favor Fergus. As the same with alot of my characters I try to make them fit into their origin and resemble their family or their respective group of people they belong to.

@Everyone Thanks for the positive responses, I appreciate the feedback. ^_^

@LadyAly - Yes, unfortunately that another flaw of Bioware dark skin. I would have either: give him makeup :P  (which I don't think is even possible with male characters) or use a non-stock tint.

It is possible to ive male chars makeup in the toolset. I use to give some of my male chars lipstick to make their lips look more natural.

I like what I see of him, but would you mind snapping a closer screen shot of in-game so I can get a better look at his face? :)

@ VirusCat: Unfortunately, whenever I completely remove her lip make-up, it makes her lips look too light and they don't stand out enough. But, thank you for your insight, I definitely appreciate it :)

@ LadyAly: Thanks!
