In my opinion, it's been two years for Kaidan. I don't know what's happened to him in that time, and I don't know what's going to happen in ME3.

But that aside, I went with the loyal route. I admit to being a bit of an RP sort of person, and for my femShep, it's just too soon to get that close to someone when there's a galaxy to save (and when, really, she had to choose Kaidan or Ashley on Virmire, it kind of drives home how lousy it is when you have emotional attachment in a dangerous mission).

She'll get close enough to her crew to inspire them to follow her. It's what she does. Beyond that, she's keeping her clothes on and focusing on the mission.

Now, with that being said, last I checked, who likes what character is this funny thing about people's "opinions". What one person finds boring, another might find interesting. That's why we're all *gasp* different. Crazy, huh? So really, people aren't going to have the same opinions on characters. I'm sure this is obvious but there's a few posts that make me not so sure that people get it, so I figure it's maybe worth stating. Everyone reads something different into characters, and that's what makes games like this interesting. It's the reactions they evoke in people.

I'm going to do a second playthrough with no ME1 LI and see what crops up. Maybe I'll even play a maleShep finally and check out that side of things, too.

lol funny thing is...I started out TRYING to cheat on Ashley with Miranda, but in the end all I got was a salute from Miranda..so I ended up being loyal after all. /sigh

Oh, anyways to those who said they stayed loyal to Tali: Did you have a romance in ME1? Because if you did, you were never true to Tali. Just at the time, you couldn't sleep with her which made you choose someone else. Just mentioning.

Nope. Like I said, Tali was my romance in ME1. The game tried to push Ashley on me near the end but I turned her down flat. Slept with no one. But ME2 does try to act like something happened, which I found a little annoying.

Just completed my first play through with my Fem. Shepard from ME1, who romanced Liara.



Stayed loyal, as she got the scene where she stares at Liara's holo...Despite some heavy flirting with Kelly.

No...I wound up cheating on poor Liara with Tali. However, as I do like to roleplay in these games, my character did, in fact, have in game motivations to do so.



First off, when he and Liara finally saw each other on Illium, she was shockingly cold and distant. Even though he learned the reason, her sheer brutality turned him away, as it was her innocence that drew him in the first place.

Second, when he went with Tali to the Migrant Fleet, he was able to get to know her significantly better, and began to develop an emotional attachment to her.

Third, in the face of his growing feelings for Tali, Liara wasn't even there, and they were heading off on what everybody thought was a 'suicide mission.' Both of them wound up surviving, though.



It will be interesting to see how Liara, Tali and Shepard work this out in ME3. Hell, if that red headed moron Archie can pull this **** off, why the hell can't I!?

stayed loyal to ash. I completely agreed with her comments on virmire about cerberus. i hated the idea of working for them, but I guess it was a necessary evil.

I haven't read it myself, but in one of the novels, I believe Liara is the one who steals your corpse back from the Shadow Broker and gives it to Cerberus.

I haven't finished it yet, but I'm 'cheating' on Liara because I "fell in love" with the shy "young" scientist that was fascinated with anything scientifically interesting and always kept things on the level. I would have never gone for her as the hardcore information broker bent on revenge, and would probably dump someone IRL if they turned into that as well.

My only concern is that in ME3 they're going to make it into an issue of male human hormones, without the option to say "I don't know who you are anymore" (even though I helped her in this game).

Me too. I wish they had either made a second dialog for those with a history in ME1, or just made her a little more stand-offish in that scene.

I went strait for Thane too. I had no problems getting over Kaiden because he really wasn't all to interesting anyway. I mean, yeah I felt kinda sad that we couldn't stay together, but he was pretty stern and unhappy about Shep being with Cerberus, so I guess it just had to move on. I've been excited to get with Thane ever since I've read through all of the Thane Love threads in the old ME forums. (WHERE ARE THEY NOW?! The lack of Thane Love threads makes me sad) He's just soooo much more interesting then Kaiden was, not to mention a total hottie!

Thane = my love forever, so I better be able to find a cure for him in the next installment!

I thought he was died after the mission... There were two coffins and the way my Shepard put her hand on one I assumed it was Thane. The two people who died in my playthrough was Legion and Miranda...were those their coffins? Even though I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the the love scene for Thane all we saw was a kiss...I mean as sweet as it was...Would have liked to have gotten a look at his cute butt

Yes. Although Tali threw herself at me, I side stepped it when she apologized to me. And when Miranda turned around from the window.

Loyal to kaidan, I toyed with the idea of garrus even explored the options but when kaidan's pic was turned over on my desk my shep realised she still loved him even though he'd been a d**k!

I was going to be loyal to Ash, but she was horrible to me on that planet, so I thought "suit yourself" and hooked up with Miranda.

My first play through I was loyal to Kaidan. I might try out one imported game where I 'cheat' on him just to see it play out in ME3. Other than that, I'll just be using an import with no romance or starting fresh in ME2 for Garrus and Thane.

I trield being loyal to Liara, but the first sign of trouble was when I ended up getting too close to Jack and caused Shepard to flip the photo upside-down. When Tali started acting adorable...well, I'm sorry, Liara, but I just don't know how I'm supposed to stay loyal.

I didn't have an LI in ME1. Ash was attractive physically, but her attitude really put me and my detached, renegade Shepherd off. Same with Miranda. Tali, though... I dunno. I always liked her and there was always something about her. Barring some new ridiculously alluring LI in ME3, Tali will likely remain my partner for the duration of the series.



Come to think of it, I always thought the Draenai were the most physically attractive females in WoW. Maybe I'm a xenophile.

Definetly not. Ash acted like a ***** on Horizon anyway. Went for Tali as soon as I could.

My paragon femshep could never betray kaidan...though when he walked off on Horizon, I would totally have sent a very angrily worded message to him if I could send mail. Just for that, I almost hooked up with Thane.



Though I think of all the potential LI for femshep, I prefer Garrus. I was panic stricken when the ship took him out during the archangel mission.



Did start new ME2 character so there would be no worry about romantic entaglements.

Hell no Zen did not stay loyal to Liara. She barely did through the first game.



Zen didn't trust men and didn't trust aliens in ME 1. Kaiden changed her mind about men and Liara challenged her views on aliens. In the end she only really ended up with Liara because when she pushed them both away, Liara fought for the relationship. By the end of ME1 though, all they were doing was arguing. I decided about the time she asked if they could take a break from saving the world to do research that it was over between them.



Then in ME2, with the return to Horizon, the tension between Kaidan and Zen was amazing. When Kelly asked whether she had feelings for him, she said yes. So cheating already.



However, both Kaidan and Liara were really just warm ups for Garrus. I wasn't (and my Shep wasn't) sure if it was the way to go, then on his personal mission the sparks just flew. They were made for each other. Plus Garrus had always been a close friend in the first game too.



I now view that relationship as the big love of my Shep's life.





(My second Shep is loyal though. She's basically one of those pretty ugly girls who bag a hot guy, then are obsessed with holding on to them.)

In fact, pursuing any other love interest would make me feel like I'm cheating on *her*.
