Hey guys.. trying to do a 100% complete perfect playthrough on ME which of course includes doing pinnacle station (on insanity like the rest of the file) which is REALLY difficult compared to the rest of the game.. everything else is a complete BREEZE on insanity compared to pinnacle station..

Anyhow I only have 1 mission left out of the 8 beginner missions(its the hardest out of all of them on insanity apparently, read this from multiple topics on forums) and I have to get 44 kills to beat the record..

Quite a few people on numerous forums say its near impossible but I've also watched a youtube video of it being done so I know its possible, although its VERY hard, to the point of trial and error and frustration...

I would REALLY appreciate if any of you could give me some strategies on how you did it (Remember, on insanity, its easy as pie on normal/hardcore so those strats won't help) as I've spent about 6 hours doing it non stop an can till not complete it.. thanks


TL;DR - Stuck on pinnacle station volcanic hunt on INSANITY, need strategies on how you guys did it. Been trying non stop for 6 hours and I can't get above 39, I need 44 kills.

I'm a soldier storm trooper with no bonus skills. Thanks for any help

Excuse me? I have no spoilers in my thread AT ALL and pinnacle station has No plot WHATSOEVER so I have no idea what your referring to.

Pinnacle station is a ME1 DLC

Is not bothering an option? Volcanic Hunt is hopelessly unbalanced. All you can do is move to one side so you'll get more concentrated spawns and pray you get lucky, not any kind of fun really.

Its just that if there was ever any DLC in ME2 or if theres something in ME2 that only comes up if you finished Pinnacle station, I'd never be able to forgive myself for not doing it.

Also its just for the completionist in me, I feel like I just have to do it...

Are you on insanity for the achievement? If not, I would suggest just lowering your difficulty as needed and just getting past that horribly broken quest.



If you are, create an alternate save file right before virmire and complete the game for the achievement. Then, reload your alternate save, lower your difficulty, and then complete pinnacle station and beat the game again.



In the time it takes to successfully beat that mission, you could do this about 4 times. XD

I have considered this but..

is there a bonus for having insanity completed when I import?

Also.. i would feel like it beat me.. and i don't like that >

You won't beat it. I was able to get in the 40's range a couple of times via pure luck. The people that have beaten it were usually on the PC and/or using a soldier build. If you don't have those two things than it's pretty much impossible. Somebody forgot to check to see if it was doable.

The OP is a soldier build.    Technically if he gets really lucky with spawns and everything goes perfectly, he does have a chance, but he's going to want to stab himself in the face by the time he manages it, I think.

To the OP: I would reccomend that you stop bumping the thread though.  If you just googled volcanic hunt, you're likely more of an expert on it than anyone else on this forum right now.

But yeah I am a soldier but your correct... all the videos i have seen of people doing it are on the pc..

Such a shame they let such a bad DLC into the game.
