I like ME2. I agree with some posters that the loss of inventory system and simplification of the skill system is over the top, but I'm living with that. I was having a blast, but I keep running out of ammo, and this is starting to turn my experience into a negative one. Am I missing a source of ammo other than the few scraps of loot left lying around that sometimes I can't pickup?

Nah, we just don't have that much ammo. Although, your squad mates has infinite ammo, rely on them some too and take your shots more carefully yourself.

Please tell me your enemies don't have infinite ammo as well.

Please.

Switch your weapons around more often, or aim better. Doing one of the two or both will solve your ammo problem.

They appear to.

Also, just by the by, has anyone else noticed a complete 180 in terms of classes in ME2 compared to ME1? A Soldier in ME2 is an absolute powerhouse; where as a Vanguard is basically useless on the higher difficulty levels, as are Adepts, who now get shredded. I agree that not all of the changes made in ME2 have been good - nor have they been bad. It's just different.

@ OP
Couldn't you add your opinion to dozens of already existing topics about ammo instead of creating another one?<_<

In what way does this solve the ammo problem ?
The sniper rifle has like 10 shots, even if you dish out 100% headshots that´s not enough for most combat scenarios.
I always wish I could trade in my "high-tech" sniper rifle for some kind of 19th century historical rifle, because that would definitely be better.

Unfortunately this site has no search feature, seeing I couldn't see an ammo related topic, I had to make one myself. Figured everyone else knew something I didn't.

I have yet to run completely out of ammo. I've run out on a couple of weapons, but I've just had to switch to something less optimal for battle, but it still works. I have had no problem with it, especially since you pick up new thermal clips all of the time during battles, at least on normal difficulty.

I'm running on normal, I'm just used to playing ME1, which I only completed this morning. It'd be nice to be able to buy or make ammo at least.

Buying or making heavy weapons ammo would be cool, but the regular ammo is just so abundant that it's really not needed. You're probably missing a lot of clips, because they're often lying around in weird places and it's easy to just run right by them. Make sure you take a few seconds to scan each room for the little flashes of light the clips throw off.

Are you serious?

I'm playing on the difficulty below 'insanity' and I'm surprised at how much ammo is lying around that I don't require.

Sorry dude, this is a clear case of L2P.

I don't have ammo problems. I use appropiate weapon and ammo against each enemy, (try to) shoot carefully. Also, i take a moment after each battle to check places of enemy bodies if there are some clips. Generally i have very high ammo the whole mission, with sniper being exception.

Also note that Vanguard Assault Rifle and Carnifex Hand Cannon have less ammo than Avenger and Predator but have more accuracy and damage respectively.

Atleast I learnt how to shoot properly and not like idiot in ME1 xD and taking care of each bullet in which part of my enemy will finish, like I would do in real life. If I shoot in head it hurts my enemy alot if I shoot in legs, arms etc etc... I think this limited ammo is good thing. I found myself few times without it haha I was omg hate this. Then I saw ammo on some box and thought, weee and sprint to next box to get it ^^, ehe dramatic moments but realistic yes...

This is, again, a feature shooter fans like because shooter games have it, but which the RPG fans may like less because it feels like -- and is -- an artificial limitation which is a cheap way to tweak difficulty.

Hurrah, I've found someone who actually takes notice of how the game is designed.

The ammo thing's good i'm sorry it just is. Ok i'll admit it does make the game more of an third person shooter but it also adds a sense of urgency and preperation, you can't just stand  there and fire an infinite amount of bullets killing everything in a matter of seconds like you could in Mass Effect 1, instead you have to  use your team members abilties, so you have to plan your team better at the begining of missions. In all honesty the people that said about just using another weapon when your assault rifle runs out, is another great thing this adds because you realise that some weapons you otherwise wouldn't have used are kick derriere :D

Please Bioware do not remove or tweak this

P.S. Release more DLC like now please lol

Ok seems I need to clear up a few misconceptions here. I'm a good shot and I switch weapons, which leaves only one thing, even though I think I'm looking hard for ammo, I guess I must be missing some, though sometimes when I try and pick up ammo the game beeps at me and wont take it. As far as I can tell they're all the same.

It doesn't really add anything to game play in my opinion. Except really annoy you with low mag round weapons like the entry level Shotguns and snipers. Not to mention the most boring aspect of weapons is there are very few of them. It's not fun going through about 50 percent of the game with the same starter weapon.

I would say level design and talent/ability reworks has done more to make combat fun. Not the fact I actually have to reload.

Perhaps they could have put unlimited ammo in the options somewhere? That way, everyone would be happy.
