There's one mission where you can extend a bridge to get to a specific part. If you end the mission while standing on the bridge, it will 'disappear' and you will basically 'fall' to your death. There's prolly a few more times throughout the game this can happen.Laterali wrote...
I've been having this problem now. not only does it do the heartbeat, but after i successfully completed a mission, while on the loading screen to get back into the Normandy, it came up with the veins and then said mission failed, like I had died. So apparently loading screens are deadly...

Having this issue too, and apparently it's not platform specific, as I'm running on the PC. Similar to what others have said, it only manifested on my 2nd playthrough, and I'm playing as a soldier this time through. Massively annoying!
It only happens when I'm a soldier, too. Didn't hear it as any other class.

It happens when you level up your "combat mastery" squad points to level 3 and above. If you use the "prototype reassign points" thing (which takes up a bit of element zero) and put your combat mastery to level 2, the heart beat noise goes away completely.
I have experimented with reassigning points to various other skills, but its definitely combat mastery level 3 that causes it (maybe because it awards you the extra health and that some how hooks into the low health heart beat sound effect?)
For the record I am a soldier class too and am using an imported paragon character from Mass Effect 1. Its quite a relief to have that annoying noise gone, especially when it pumps through my surround sound system! Hope this fix works for you guys too.

I tried the same thing on the PC, and for me, if I dropped Combat Mastery to lvl 3, the sound went away. Once I bumped it up to lvl 4 and picked a specialization, the heartbeat sound instantly came back.

I started a new game, with my ME2 import of my 1st playthrough and the problem was gone, only heard the heartbeat on the first loading screen like it's supposed to

That's the mission I was on, but I wasn't on the bridge. That's messed up.

I'm thinking it has to do with renegade points being two times more than paragon, but it's a guess, since I haven't tried and never cared to try to replicate the problem.

You're all wrong. It's caused by the Collector chitin armour. Equip it and hear for yourself.

I realize my original post may have sounded rude, but I was beign earnest. I can turn the heartbeat sound on and off at will by wearing the Collector's armour. I'm already at combat mastery 4, and going to 3 didn't introduce any anomalous sounds in loading screens.Garrick27 wrote...
wrong - I dont have that armor and I have the heartbeat.Alistair 3-921 wrote...

EDIT: D'oh, I just realized that this is the 360 section. I have the PC version. My posts can probably be discounted.
