I understand it happening during 1st few load screens in prologue during your re-construction, but i heard it at least half the time through entire game and now on 2nd play

dont hear it during loads on normandy though

is this a glitch?, can it be fixed?

I've been having this problem now. not only does it do the heartbeat, but after i successfully completed a mission, while on the loading screen to get back into the Normandy, it came up with the veins and then said mission failed, like I had died. So apparently loading screens are deadly...

I heard this on most of the load screens my first time around as a soldier. 2nd game I am now playing as a sentinel and I imported the same ME1 save again and I haven't heard it once yet. Not sure what it is about but I actually miss it after getting used to it heh.

I reverted to an older save without the glitch, and found out how to recreate it - one of the causes at least, seems to be when you assign points after leveling up

There's one mission where you can extend a bridge to get to a specific part. If you end the mission while standing on the bridge, it will 'disappear' and you will basically 'fall' to your death. There's prolly a few more times throughout the game this can happen.

Having this issue too, and apparently it's not platform specific, as I'm running on the PC. Similar to what others have said, it only manifested on my 2nd playthrough, and I'm playing as a soldier this time through. Massively annoying!

It only happens when I'm a soldier, too.  Didn't hear it as any other class.

Ok after much testing I've pinpointed the EXACT cause and a solution!

It happens when you level up your "combat mastery" squad points to level 3 and above. If you use the "prototype reassign points" thing (which takes up a bit of element zero) and put your combat mastery to level 2, the heart beat noise goes away completely.

I have experimented with reassigning points to various other skills, but its definitely combat mastery level 3 that causes it (maybe because it awards you the extra health and that some how hooks into the low health heart beat sound effect?)

For the record I am a soldier class too and am using an imported paragon character from Mass Effect 1. Its quite a relief to have that annoying noise gone, especially when it pumps through my surround sound system! Hope this fix works for you guys too.

I tried the same thing on the PC, and for me, if I dropped Combat Mastery to lvl 3, the sound went away. Once I bumped it up to lvl 4 and picked a specialization, the heartbeat sound instantly came back.

I didn't have this problem on my 1st playthrough, but when I began a second playthrough, I heard it every time

I started a new game, with my ME2 import of my 1st playthrough and the problem was gone, only heard the heartbeat on the first loading screen like it's supposed to

I play on Xbox btw

Here's an idea - maybe it is an update and its for Valentines Day? An easter egg they put in when we got the heavy armor???

You're all wrong. It's caused by the Collector chitin armour. Equip it and hear for yourself.

That's the mission I was on, but I wasn't on the bridge. That's messed up.

I've been having the heartbeat since the first few hours of game back on the launch day (PC).

I'm thinking it has to do with renegade points being two times more than paragon, but it's a guess, since I haven't tried and never cared to try to replicate the problem.

Happening here too, but not frequently. Just pops in out of the blue.

I realize my original post may have sounded rude, but I was beign earnest. I can turn the heartbeat sound on and off at will by wearing the Collector's armour. I'm already at combat mastery 4, and going to 3 didn't introduce any anomalous sounds in loading screens.

EDIT: D'oh, I just realized that this is the 360 section. I have the PC version. My posts can probably be discounted.

Never had this problem on my first playthrough (Infiltrator, Paragon, Veteran). Now on my second I am a Soldier, mostly Renegade, Hardcore. Didn't notice it first couple hours but it occurs almost every time there's a load screen it seems. Thought there might be some meaning behind it but I guess it's just a bug? I can live with it.

It worked fine in my first playthrough as a Paragon Soldier. Then poped in and out of loading screens on my second playthrough with the same character. In my thrid playthough it was on almost every loading screen. But on my last few it hasn't come up at all, even when it was supposed to.
