Can someone please explain to me in detail of how to properly install the JB Textures mod for DA:O?
I used to be fine with DA:O graphics but after my play through of ME2 I can't stand the low res textures in the environments, just looks bad!
Graphics don't make a game but I just find it distracting now so if anyone has had success with this mod I would really appreciate some help!

According to dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php you just do this
Installation instructions:
If you using any old version, like 1.0, 1.3, 2.0, then please go to [default] C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\ and delete folder 'override'.
1. Download the files.
2. Unpack the files using WinRAR / 7-Zip.
3. Once you unpack the files, you will get a folder called 'override' for each part.
4. Copy this folder to your game installation folder [default] C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\.
5. When asked to overwrite, click Yes.
5. Done. Any problems? Go ahead and ask!
I don't have this but I don't think I'd delete override folder unless you are real sure.

Does this work for Windows 7 as well? Or do they need to go into the Documents\\\\bioware\\\\dragonage\\\\pacakges\\\\core?

As I said earlier I don't have this but it doesn't look like an 'installation' just unzip in override file. Says at bottom "they are good for every PC config" which I guess means platform. .

For JB Textures, I believe that after unzipping, there is an executable file that needs to be run. If I recall correctly, the executable creates folders to put in your override folder.
You don't want to delete your existing override if you have other mods in there. Just add these folders.
JB Textures might conflict with other mods that alter texture files like some body & armor mods. So, you may need to delete conflicting files or files with duplicate names from other mods.

I downloaded all 3 main files or 4 can't remember at the moment. I was able to "Unpack" the Main file 1, but unable to unpack the other 2, I always get an error while trying to unpack. I use 7zip, and also even downloaded Winrar and tried with the same conclusion. I don't understand what would be causing the error. All files downloaded correctly and are of the file size they should be.
Anyway I gave up trying. So if anyone has any suggestions it would be nice.

>>First Step - Create a new Folder on your desktop. Name it what ever you want. Just
call it JBTextures for now I guess.
>>Second Step - Go to: http://www.dragonage.../file.php?id=15
>>Third Step (USE WINRAR) - Under the "Files" Tab, Download the following:
- PART1
- PART2
- PART3
- PATCH1
Do NOT open the file. SAVE all the .zip file into the JBTextures Folder you created on
the Desktop earlier. (ALL .ZIP Files, Including the patches.)
>>Fourth Step - Create a New folder in the JBTextures Folder and again, call it what-
ever you would like...I'm going to call it: HDTextures
>>Fifth Step - Then go back and go into PART1-15.zip file. Highlight/Select
"HDtextures_ver21.part1.rar" and drag it into the newly created folder (The one I
called HDtextures) Do that exact process for the "PART2-15.zip and PART3-15.zip"
files.
>>Sixth Step - Once all the PARTx-15.zip files are dealt with, the fun begins! Ok....
Go into the newly created folder (HDtextures) and right click
"HDtextures_ver21.part1.rar" and select: "Extract to HDtextures_ver21\\\\" ONLY
DO THAT WITH PART1!!! Forget about part2+part3, WinRAR does it for you
automatically. Once thats done go into the HDtextures_ver21 folder that was made
for you.
>>Seventh Step - Double Click "HDtextures_ver21.exe" A new window should come
up. Click the "..." and find the first folder we made called JBTextures. Select that
folder and click ok then click "Extract"
>>Eighth Step - Once that is done...Go into the JBtextures folder (The first one we made) and you
should find a new folder called "override". If the folder is there then, Pat yourself on
the back, you did good. If its not..try again following this video/Instructions more
deeply. THAT BEING SAID, your still not done. Open up my computer and navigate
to (Default):
C:\\\\\\\\Program Files\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\Packages\\\\\\\\core\\\\\\\\
Then drag the override folder into there. Simple enough!! i guess..
>>Ninth Step - Yes theres more! Go back to the "PATCH1-15.zip" file that was in
the JBTextures folder (The very first folder we made) Double click it. Then
double click "PATCH_2009-11-30.exe" (Click YES if User Account Control comes up,
if it doesn't, don't worry about it) Then we see a very fimilar window! Click the "..."
like last time only this time navigate yourself to:
C:\\\\\\\\Program Files\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\Packages\\\\\\\\core\\\\\\\\override
(Again this is the default path) and just select the override folder and click OK. Then
click Extract. Watch the magic happen...
>>TENTH AND LAST STEP - Test to see if you notice a difference in-game!
BECAUSE YOUR DONE!!!!! YAYAYAYAY! By the way, if you think your
computer can handle Patchs 2+3 then go ahead and try it out. To install patch 2+3,
just do it the SAME EXACT way you installed Patch 1.
ENJOY!! AND HOPE IT WORKS!

ok one question and that is. . . what the hell do you do with part 2 and 3 on the main folders. . part 1 works and the patches work but the problem people have is not being able to get part 2 and 3 to work due to it saying file corrupted or giving a error msg in 7zip or winrar. . are they not supposed to work or sumthing??? or does the .exe in part one extract files from part 2 and 3 aswell?
