is there a way to let her live via renegade? i really hate that paragon hit. just curious.
Do what you want, ignore the meters. It's relatively easy to max out renegade even without that one big gain you can max it out and paragon meter only gives you bonuses.

Nope if you let her live you're a Paragon. A poor, naive, galaxy dooming Paragon.

Lmao!!!Well technically we don't know that yet.. Unless I'm not there yet in ME2, I chose to let her live, I'm really curious to see how that pans out.
It's in there.

Well I don't even own ME2, but I'm assuming that if you let her live you've doomed the galaxy. The Rachni are what they are, no amount of wishful thinking will change that, and the Galaxy will know another Rachni War.

It's made pretty clear that the Rachni are peaceful, loving creatures who love song, but who were controlled by the Reapers to make war. Even if they become a problem rather than a help in ME3, who doesn't want extra content?
When exactly is that made clear? The Queen can certainly give that impression but it's the word of one vs the experience of many. 99.99% of all Rachni encountered anywhere, ever, have been hostile. The violent nature of the Rachni on Noveria shows that the Rachni are violent by nature. Just like us the Rachni are what they've always been, and no amount of want or hope will change that.

OK, this is my interpretation and it is based on complete supposition from the dialogue in both ME1 and ME2. Basically, in Noveria, the Rachni Queen says something along the lines of: "We were only an egg. There was one sour note that resonated. Then it was gone". (Apologies for bad quotes, cba to play through to that point for the 3rd time in the past 30 days). -SPOILER- Then in ME2, provided you let her live, the Asari in Illium, in the message from the queen says "We hear you fight those who soured our notes long ago" (got to that point at about 5 am last morning, memory bad).
Conclusion- Reapers have altered the Rachni in the same way they have with Collectors. In actuallity, rachni are peaceful and probably quite nice creatures. cant wait for ME3 to find out.

If you want to argue rachni now make a new thread and flag it ME2 spoiler. Though you shouldn't assume you know the full picture without having played ME2 since it was anounced pre-release that the rachni descision would be reflected in some way.

Since arguing on the internetz is SO worthwhile, i'll try to make my point quickly...this is a ME1 forum...spoilers related to ME1 are allowed while things that could be considered spoilers of ME2 wouldnt be. Even if what you said was 'announced' pre-release, your assuming everyone reading this forum wants to know what was announced. I ignored a lot of ME2 'insiders' videos for this reason...just to have some mentally challenged, new**** screw it over for me. Dont bother tryin to insult me...insulting you would just be to easy...

Second your childish tantrum was over a complete non-spoiler when if you actually read the thread there are much bigger ME2 spoilers, though clearly you lack the attention span to have done that.
"Dont bother tryin to insult me" Why? Because you are such a tough guy. grow up. I don't need to insult you, you've demonstrated to anyone reading this thread you are a pathetic, childish, whinny, moron. Thane has a terminal illness.

Those rachni were insane and were prisoners of Binary Helix on top of that (and we don't know what the scientists were actually doing to them in there, but I can't imagine they were very humane about it). That's not a very good basis to judge an entire species on.DPSSOC wrote...

I killed her first time, remorseful action, her children will "sing" for you, and mayhap be your allies, this was her solemn promise and I would be disgusted if in a future game she and her offspring were anything but that.
Disbelief suspended for many of the longlived creatures in the game to die for stupidity.
