I also find this bug frequently enough to be a little frustrated by it, but by far the quality of this game outweighs the problems with this bug. Yes it would be nice to have a reliable fix, and I hope ME3 will have a better track record, but overall my experience with this game ( ME2 ) has been excellent. I've been playing video games for many years, probably longer than a lot of readers lifespans here, and I have seen a lot of crazy issues with games in general, but Mass Effect 2 has been a very fun experience for me and is one of my top favorite games of all time.... think back to Pong and the old Atari Adventure... I don't like stuck in the air. It's just as bad as ME1 where you would take cover behind geth shields. I've never been stuck in the air though, so I can't complain. But I imagine that it would be bad.

So there's no fix for this issue? No console command?

In response to the above poster who mentioned how difficult it was to make a game perfect, I totally agree. I've programmed and it's impossible to turn out a perfect product, bugs crop up. That said....
There is absolutely no reason I shouldn't be able to do a quick fix using toggle collision mode instead of having to redo the whole scenario. There's a good reason to be able to use the console and it's to fix the inevitable bugs and clashes that happen; it is incredibly limiting and as another poster said, completely asinine for the console commands to be locked out.
