as above i am after becoming a ranger so was wondering if someone can tell me how.

You can buy the manual in your party camp for 15 gold. As far as I know, that is the only way to get the specialization, since none of your characters are rangers and can't teach you the discipline.

You can also buy it in the Dalish camp, from Varathorn.
