This is actually really funny.

As you approach the bridge that leads to the tower of Ishal if neither Loghain or Alistair are in your party, your character, the Warden will say "Ah, the Tower of Ishal, you remember that place don't you?  The Darkspawn are probably using it as their headquarters."  He says this in Loghain's voice.  The NPC that gives you the quest suggests you bring a survivor of Ostagar with you.  My guess is it's a message from the developers saying "We warned you, don't blame us if something strange and unusual happens!"

It's only about a half hour long DLC.  But it's still worth the $5 in my opinion.  Have fun everyone.
