what pisses me off the most about this DLC is that

*SPOILER ALERT*

they make you feel like you give a sh*t about Cailen, he's just a dimwit you met for one day that chases after fairy tales and got a lot of good men killed. i actually clapped when i saw him crucified. and the armor is just a reskined Juggernaut Armor.

Seriously underwhelemed by RTO. And I do not mean the loot or the difficulty, as I care about neither. For me the DLC is the quest with the worst design and writing. Sadly I can't elaborate in the no spoiler section. But it is full of little things that just don't add up.

How do I play the DLC from the endgame save? Do I have to sit through the credits because I've done that twice already.

If you have finished the game you should see "post-campaign" save, that save can be used to access party camp and DLC areas.

It's not there. Is it an auto-save?

Just pick a save prior to the final end game battle IE a save prior to going to Redcliff castle.

Just played through it with a character who missed out on Dog, yet finished it without once encountering Dog. Where/when should I have run into him?

I thought the DLC was descent and kinda fun - but definetly not as fun as Warden's Keep.

@ Suilebhain:

I think what you experienced is what some youngsters experience when they see their beloved dignified widow grandma shamelessly flirting with men at a church picnic.
Yeah, she's all gentle smiles and enlightened encouragement when talking to you, the PC. But guess what LOL, old woman's a cougar. It should be blatantly obvious -- this is an old woman who wants to go hang out at some muddy warcamp filled with boisterous unwashed men, rather than stay home with admiring students and work admin. At her age.
I like how DAO's characters can be multi-faceted.

Dude, I'm not talking about the fact that she's GRANDMOTHERLY. I'm talking about the fact that she has been resurrected by a "holy" spirit. If we met her prior to this happening, I could see anything happening. I just think that the devs needed her to say something and some nitwit came up with that stuff.

Besides, she didn't go hang around at some warcamp to pick up fresh meat, she was doing it because she felt that she had a higher purpose. *shrugs* Some people laugh at fart jokes, too, I guess.

Double post - saying it twice does not mean that any higher level of understanding will occur.

It did have some closure but it could have been a lot more emotional. I just didn't care about it and the whole DLC felt sloppily put together. To me, it was not worth the $5 especially if you're expecting new dialogue. I took both Wynne and Alistair with me and there was hardly any dialogue with them. A little banter but cutscene wise, hardly anything.

I'm kinda debating on whether it was worth it or not.

It was interesting seeing what happened post-battle, but there were some things that I would have liked answered.

All the evidence i need is that people say warden's keep was better. If thats the case, then rto must be terrible.

Personally I thought it was fun....the gear alone is worth the $5. Cailan's Armor alone is sick. The monster mash part was fun but I would have liked a little more plot points considering how important Ostergar is to the main story. I have one question though...Where the Hell is Duncan's body???

It is terrible. 45 mins of hack and slash darkspawn to get some dreary armour and weapons that I immediately sold due to them being of lower quality than I already possessed. No character interaction or further development. No plot development. Plot holes and inconsistencies everywhere, all explained by the DLC being 'back in time'

Basically an excuse for Bioware to rip game owners off for some crappy content cut from the original game, I would bet.

Bioware have to do better than this.

I bought it, and it was worth it to me because I made it worth it. I made a paladin style character and gave him Cailens gear, and I actually felt motivated to play the entire game through again- then as other characters again too. It re-kindled my interest, so that's something I suppose.

I really enjoyed RTO. I felt emotional seeing watching the memories of the battle. Not so much for me but I felt empathy for Alistair.

For me it was better than Warden’s keep and worth the money.
