I copied it from another thread and organized it on word, but it didn't transcribe very well.

Anyone who played WoW can see the similarities, though. It's sad.

Swords. Don't forget both games have swords. Some are very large. Truly this is just lazy design that BioWare couldn't think of more imaginitive weapons than swords.

Seriously though. The main plot of 90%+ video games to date is. (Spoiler alert!!!) To save the world.

This is not a new concept. I feel that in my experience thus far that it has been well implimented and well thought out. I can't wait to see what's around the next corner.

I know. I'm still trying to raise enough money for a mount. Damn raptors are expensive. For the Horde! /sarcasm

Anyone who played an RPG before WoW would know that WoW is probably the least original game there is.

Hm ... while some similarities might exist, by a similar logic I can prove that people are really the same as ants. I just have to find some things they have in common ... (creating states, specialization etc) and compare them only in those areas, leave out everything else.

Well, I played WoW for four years and the only resemblance I see is the question marks hanging over people's heads (which is excellent btw)

Apart from that, no.

OP is an idiot, if it's truly WoW single player and everything is "comparing it to BG II, they ensured that they would generate huge amounts of revenue with minimal effort." They could have just said "WoW experience in single player" LMAO.

There are 12-17 million players that plays WoW and far less than 1 million copies of BG2 sold. LMAO go figure.

An RPG is like another RPG. Holy cow what a surprise.

I don't see no question marks, but I think I turned it off.

I dunno, I could pick that article apart at the seams.

First of all, while WoW and DAO have red threads that are similar, which isn't "unique" to WoW either, nor to most BioWare games, I'd like to note that the difference is in the impact the player has upon the plot.

Why stop at WoW? Lets take it farther back. Dragon Age is an exact copy of Ultima IV. You get a party, people react to your moral choices, which class you play effects the way people react to you, there is an overworld map with towns and dungeons, and both games are in color.

DA:O is quite different from WoW; WoW bores me to tears and DA:O doesn't.

You do realise WoW took a lot form them first right?  Even so this game isn't nearly close to what WoW is.  This game has a lot of challenging content and a HUGE storyline that drives the plot along.  Both of which WoW has none of and will never have according to their own game designers.

A hate wow.

Not because of the game itself, but because of the legions of non-gamers who play it and must compare every single other game in existence to it.

This thread is just another example of why online forums need a clearly marked "Retarded Posts ONLY" section so people who wish to post utter crap have a clear outlet. ReallyAngry6969 I'm truly sorry you and your peers have been overlooked once again.

agreed, full of spoilers, and no real insight, just the usual pseudo-elitist nerdrage about the "good ole' days" when RPGs where apparantly some kind of rocket science as opposed to today where every game has the complexity of a generic browser game. Wrong and you know it. One other thing that really gets on me nerves is that EVERYONE nowadays seems to be obsessed with WoW-Bashing. Really what the hell is wrong with you guys? This is a Bioware-Forum, i don't wanna read about WoW here. And last but not least: Why do you thing the similarities to WoW are such a bad thing, when you obviously played WoW quite a bit?

Have you noticed that anytime ANY game comes out anymore..it's automatic wow clone? I don't even think it even needs to be an rpg anymore. Any game will do..

I think most WoW bashing is like Mac and Linux bashing. It's generally not caused by the the product itself...it's more caused by that products zealots and fanboys.

I guess Game programmers are as original as people who come up with names like "ReallyAngry" followed by the ever so subtle numeric "6969"...

I have never played WoW so thankfully, I can't make the comparison. Most RPG's are loosely based around Dungeons and Dragons (another cult I never fell into) to begin with. I think as long as they are not ripping off scenarios and the gameplay is good, then who cares where the idea originated.
