Mass Effect 3: What do you want and NOT want

-Open environments battles like in Ilos or Noveria
-Wrex,Liara,Zaeed,Samara,TAli & Legion in the team.
- Inventory
- Previous skill set.
-Shops armor,weapons for team
-Bigger cities.
DO NOT WANT:
-ME2 all over again
-Thermal clips (urgh!)

- The clip system. I like having to conserve ammo rather than being able to blind-fire.
- The SMG and heavy weapons. Nice additions.
- The "ammo flavour" system. Sure beats swapping/changing ammo like in ME1.
- Multilayered enemy defenses. Barriers, Shields, Armour with separate counters. Tactical.
- Research. Nice way to increase effectiveness, better than looting dozens of useless guns.
- Humour. The world's a funny place. The future should be too.
- Interrupt system. It's great.
- Respeccing. Also good.
- Ship-to-Ship combat. Perhaps in the "suicide mission" format, where the player has to make a number of choices that shape the encounter, rather than an FPS style pew-pew combat.
- Planetary exploration/combat. NOT the Mako, which was a pain to drive .. but the concept art I've seen for the hammerhead hovertank has definate appeal.
- Better resource gathering method than either "find a lump somewhere on a planet" or "scan 'til your fingers hurt". Perhaps the ability to buy resources from mining colonies or something?
- Real romances. Not "I've fancied you all mission, now we're about to die. Let's bump uglies!" .. something with more depth than flirt, flirt, declare romantic intention, hump.
- Character interactions. Like Dragon Age, where NPCs would constantly flirt, insult, gossip, with one another. It really humanised the characters and builds emotional attachment.
- More customization. Lots of clothes, different armour piece styles, even the ability for my Shepard to have a haircut or a bit of cosmetic surgery. I'd like to paint Normandy, choose a style for the uniform that the crew wear.
- ME1 and ME2 survivors play a real role.
- More weapons! .. Can't believe ME2 had only two pistols.
- Small zones with illogical invisible walls/unscalable 1ft tall blockages.
- Planetary scanning. As mentioned above, it's annoying.
- Cameos.

- Fuel. Seemed pointless.
- Two visual looks for allies. I liked gearing them.
- Helmets that can't be removed.
- "One piece" armour sets.
- Imported choices that don't (or barely) change anything.

ME1 inventory back. (lose all the # variants)
Inventory(Weapons/Armor/Upgrades) are bought/found/created and scanned onto Normandy Armory.
Weapons and Armor have upgrade slots.
Upgrades themselves are simple.(no # variants)(health/shield/armor/biotic/ammo/damage boost)
Shepard armor customization can stay but squad armor needs to return.
Liara NEEDS to return as a squad mate.
ME2 weapons were fun but would like to see a hybrid between thermal clips and self cool down.
Do Not Want:
ME2s linear, over simplistic and unappealing "feel".
New squad mates.
Universal cool downs.

Don't want:
All new cast

- more squadmate customization (ie, change armor/casual/color)
- ability to take more or less squad members on missions
- more in depth squad interaction
- if a vehicle (ie, mako/hammerhead) is in ME3, integrate it a little more into missions
- more customization tools: i felt that there just wasn't that many armor/pattern (also, maybe a branch path for customizing weapons and a more intricate evolution path in powers)
- more weapons
- bigger spaces in places like the citadel/omega/illium (the sense that you were in a vast city/space station wasn't there like ME1
- more wildlife encounters
- more females in alien species (i feel like the galaxy is one big sausagefest, except for asari and miranda)
- make main quest branch out in such a way as the different choices you make affect whether you play certain missions or not; not simply a different way in which the mission plays out
- rachni
- melee weapons (vanguard with a lightning sword)
- im sure bioware will grant this request but. . . a super awesome epic ending for the Mass Effect trilogy (just stop with the shepard story at ME3, plz)
Do NOT want:
- planet scanning
- linear levels
- character excuses for not wishing to converse (ie, could it wait for a bit, i'm in the middle of some calibrations)

Second this!
Although as a pipe-dream request I also want Shiala as a squadmate.

Want want:
- Some of the ME2 and ME1 squadies to return as full squad members. Not everyone necessarily but at least the love interests to keep everyone happy. (And I just can't save the galaxy without Garrus and Tali watching my back. It would be interesting to see more about Legion's story too.. No Data Available really made me curious.)
- And, or course, to continue romances. Who doesn't? Let them to evolve to something deep and touching.
- A little bit more armor customization. (Not too much though. And it would be fun to customize casual outfits too.)
- Keep those interrupts coming. They are great.
- Go to Earth.
- Go to Palaven. (Turian homeworld)
- More dialoque. We loves it. We needs it.
- Explosions. Lots of them.
No way want:
- Shepard dies in the end to save the galaxy. (Try something new instead)
- To gather a completely new Squad. Again.
- Reapers to destroy the galaxy. We have been fighting them for three games by then. We need a reward. With explosions.
- Black and White. Renegade decicions = Bad outcome, Paragon = Good
outcome. Please, no. Suprise us.
- To fight TIM instead of the Reapers. I don't want him to become the main antagonist. It's too... obvious.
- To see our love interest die. Come on, it's heartbreaking. And mean. Did I say it's mean to do that? Yes it's mean.
I think that's all..for now. Mass Effect 2 is a great game, I truly hope 3 will live up to it's expectations.

+ Every squadmate to return as squadmates(Though I can see Thane, Samara, Zaeed, Mordin, and Kasumi getting the possible boot due to healh or occupational reasons)
+ Keep current inventory and resource system
+ Hammerhead as permanent addition, just make armor thicker.
+ Our choices to actually matter. Half of our ME1 choices barely made a difference.
+ ME2 combat system, albeit modified on the powers.
+ Spectre weapons
Do not want
- Recruiting another squad. ME2 already had half the game dedicated to our squadmates, and we already went out of our way to keep them alive. Do not relegate them to cameos.
- Controllable space battles. I never cared for it. If I wanted it, I'd go play a flight sim, Ace Combat, StarFox, or H.A.W.X. instead
- ME1 inventory system
- Fuel for Normandy
- Mother****ing multiplayer. Single-player only games are already few and far in-between as it is.
- ME1's skill system.
- Mako
- Being Cerberus's dog again if I chose to ****** off TIM

I don't want her to suddenly get reduced into the crazy racist that everyone declares her as though, I want her to be presented as the Ash I've come to know and like, not the one that people hate but does not exist.
I also want to see Wrex return to the fray and come to think of it the entire team from both two games and I want every tiny little choice I made in the last two games to really add up. Also I want more emphasis on exploring the universe and less on just mindless action.

Some Krogan, or rachni will be great, I want to see Wrex charging with thousand of Krogan. And a lot, really a lot of Rachni ! Like on Starship troopers !

2. ME2's upgrade system with the added ability to customise armour and weapons like in Call of Duty. Things like 2x scopes, AP rounds, incendiary rounds, kinetic stabilisers, laser sights etc for weapons and shield batteries, omni-tool enhancers, strength boosters etc for armour.
3. Up the gore a little. If I recall correctly, mass accelerator small arms are supposed to rip flesh to pieces. Not the slightest hint of wounds or bleeding beyond that odd splatter effect. I mean, it's not like the Unreal engine can't handle it; just look at Gears of War.
4. An improved cover system. Hell, copy the cover system from Gears of War to the letter and it'll be just fine.
5. Multiple weapons for enemies. Tons of mercs in ME1 had multiple weapons, and it worked just fine.
6. Some more specialised weapons would be nice, like a semi-auto battle rifle.
7. A grenade launcher that actually works like a GL instead of a rocket launcher.

* Surviving squadmates from ME2 to return. Considering I pretty much only use Zaeed and Kasumi as my squadmates I definitely want to see the DLC characters made available.
* Dead squadmates from ME2 to stay dead. I killed two off specifically so they're not in ME3 and I don't want a miraculous resurrection.
* Add a 3rd squadmate to your team. I loved my team of 4 in Dragon Age. Plus, your combat combinations would be great. Two biotics and two snipers? A biotic, an engineer, a soldier and a vanguard? Mix & match.
* Party banter DA:O-style amongst my squadmates. It showed them as having personalities of their own and not just mindless drones following the warden (or Shepard, in this case).
* Armor customization and casual shipboard attire for my squadmates. I find it hard to believe that Zaeed and Garrus hang out in their armor at all hours. They have to have some downtime.
* More armor customization and casual shipboard attire for Shepard
* More dialogue with all squadmates, both on ship and off. If you are not interested in pursuing a romance with a squadmate, the dialogue options should not just end.
* Resolution with Ashley/Kaidan
* More areas to explore. Open up more areas of existing areas like the Citadel, Omega and Ilium and give us new areas. Big areas.
* More interaction with NPC's (such as shopkeepers, quest-givers, etc) in areas of exploration.
* Seeing real repercussions from actions taken in ME2 rather than just reading e-mails or hearing news snippets
Do not want:
* A completely new squad
* A return of the bloated ME1 inventory. Worst inventory ever.
* An ending in which Shepard is forced to marry and have children with his/her LI. That option should be a player's choice and not a formula in which Shepard + LI = Automatic marriage & kids ending.

gun customization and squad armor customization.
Get rid of the universal cooldown.
Get rid of the mission complete screen.
Give an option to turn off the tutorial hints.
And keep the squad from ME/ME2.
Add more conversations for squadmates.
Other than that everything else is fine.

Does Bioware even care about what we want?
Well, they brought in the Garrus and Tali romances because of demands from fans. That's what I've heard.
And the reason ME2 is so revamped from ME1 is also because of fan demands.
So, I think they care. They can't bring back everything that every fan is asking for, but if there is enough general consensus, then BioWare can't ignore that. There would be a lot of angry fans.
I don't know how ME3 will pan out. I imagine gamers starting from scratch in ME3 will be somewhat lost, because they are two stories behind everybody else. But then again, ME3 allows the gamer to create a new Shepard if they don't survive the suicide mission. I don't know how the squadmates will fit in, depending on who died, who survived, yada yada.
Here's some quotes from Casey Hudson in an interview:
I'm curious if you guys were surprised by the reaction for anything else in the game?
Well, I mean ... those are the things that show us what really resonates with people. One of the things that I like to do is look at fan art. I think in the fan art and the subjects that people choose to draw or paint ... or write about, it's in those things that you can really sense what was meaningful to people or what they want to know about. That's where we find out a lot about which characters were popular and what they thought of them.
............What we found, by the time we finished Mass Effect is that some of our most emotionally engaging characters were aliens. People loved Liara. They were devastated when Wrex died. And one of the big ones was Garrus, people just loved Garrus and there was a love of interest in having a romance with Garrus. So we thought, "Let's try this in Mass Effect 2." If people want to have a romance with this bird-like guy with an exoskeleton, then okay.
That's one of those things that was a surprise was just how popular that romance was in Mass Effect 2[/i]. In the fan art -- other than Tali and wondering what she has under her mask -- the romance with Garrus is probably the most reproduced moment. I think it says a lot about what really resonated with people.
Is there a new character in Mass Effect 2 that seems to pop-up as the lead favorite? I know I have mine, to me it seems pretty obvious that Mordin Solus is the best character. I'm curious if you've heard otherwise.
Mordin was one of the more popular ones. I think the development of some of the existing characters people continued to enjoy, like the stuff with Garrus and Tali. We always try to balance the fact that, people will say "I want all my characters back from the previous game because that's what made the first game great." But when you think about it, part of what made the previous game great is the process of meeting those characters for the first time. That has to be part of the experience too, how you meet new characters.
So...if you want something, draw fan art!
I will buy ME3, regardless of what is/is not included. I admit, I will be sad if Garrus isn't a squadmate, but it's not the end of the world. On the other hand, there are some interesting characters I've encountered in ME2 that could be potential squadmates in ME3-- Kal'Reegar, for instance. That'd be cool!
