I installed ME2 last night, and when I went to load the game, windows came up with "Mass Effect 2 has stopped working.   A problem caused the program to stop working correctly..."  (Nothing had appeared on the screen before this error.  The screen was black, and it appeared right when the intro movies should have started.)  I restarted my computer, and still the same error.  So, upated my graphics drivers (to the latest release, 196.21) and still nothing.  I reinstalled ME2, and didn't apply any of the DLC, and the error is still there.

My System specs are:
Evga 122-CK-NF68 motherboard
6gb of DDR2 PC6400
Nvidia 9800 GX2
E6750 @ 2.66Ghz
Win 7 x64

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I said it before and I'll say it again this has happened to me with 75% of the EA published games I've played on my laptop.

Strangely, I was able to get the game to work.... By disabling my 2nd dvd drive, and reinstalling the game.



What the hell kind of bug is that?
