1: Legion. Don't know if I can trust him entirely but I want to believe him. I can't abide by genocide so saving the Geth is my cup of tea.

2: Tali. It's Tali. She's my Shep's best friend and there's nobody else he would rather fight by his side.

3: Samara. I loved Samara. Epic butt kicker and her biotics put everyone else to shame.

4: Wrex. First i want him to beat the arrogance out of Grunt, then rejoin Shep while promising the full force of the United Krogan Clans as support.

5: Mordin. Genius, funny, willing to do what's necessary to protect others.

6: Thane (or more likely his Son since he will die whether we like it or not) simply because he's awesome.

7: Garrus. because he's awesome and it should be obvious by now that i want a completely multi-species team.

8: Miranda. I sort of hated her at first but after her loyalty mission she grew on me. Of all the humans that I can take into combat, out of either game, I like her the most. 
(although she would immediately be replaced by Kaiden if they opened the lost same sex romance option he originally had)

#9  crap crap crap. Hard to choose. I think I'd like EDI in a specially constructed Mech Body.
I'd love Joker as a squad member but I can't bring myself to put him in that kind of danger. Similarly the Rachni Queen but she would have to take over someones mind and my Paragon Shep wouldn't want that.

apparantly I'm the only one who doesn't want Liara back though? I love Liara but I think she's a lot more useful to Shep as an information hub who can take on the Illusive Man and the Shadow Broker.

1. Liara - Favorite character in ME1 and LI, need to wrap up shadow broker subplot.

2. Garrus - Been with Shepard since the beginning. Very likable character, wouldn't make sense to sideline in finale

3. Tali - Same as Garrus. Personally don't care for the character though.

4. Wrex - Liked better than Grunt and is a good friend to Shepard.

5. Legion - The most interesting character in ME2 imo. There is still a lot they can explore with Legion's character.

6. Miranda - Resigned from Cerberus to join Shepard, would find it odd for her to be sidelined now.

7. Jacob - Same as Miranda.

8. Mordin - One of the best characters Bioware has written. Would like to see genophage resolved and hear more songs!

1-Mordin, my most favorite video game character ever, well as far as i can remember

2,3 - my bros Garrus and Legion, because they rock

4- on this spot i would like to fill some blue chick and since i dont like what they did with poor Liara in ME2 (have you ever faced asari commando crap) and since Samara has nice blue..eyes, shes the one

5 - Thane, he is pretty cool, liked his flashbacks

6 - Tali, because she has grown up nicely

7,8 - Wrex and Grunt, they would make a really nice combo, they could call themselves Tresh-Maw Squad.



you wont find Miranda here, because her face looks a bit botox IMO.

As for the 9th member, that is really though. My most favorite guys have all some kind of problems -

Joker - glassy bones, but could have them upgraded like sheppard has in the lazarus video, but i DEFINITELY want him as LI for femshep

Nihilus - dead

Blasto - not real

I would like some melee character, using eg some superiror barrier and blades, would be cool, evry1 loves ninja right? Or some elcor, or volus...

1.) Tali - My Shepards love interest, she has to be there. The best character of the two games so far.



2.) Mordin - MAN, did he suprise me. A very interesting character and funny like hell.



3.) Wrex - I need my Krogan veteran back, so I can check in Grunt at the nursery.



4.) Garrus - C'mon, he *still* needs guidance, or he'll start shooting up jaywalkers again.



5.) Legion - There's a lot to explore with him yet, about the Geth and the Quarians.



6.) Thane - Cool character, needs to be saved from his terminal illness.



7.) Samara - The whole storyline about her daughters and others like them does kind of beg for more.



8.) Jacob - Now, that was a guy who had a serious bromance vibe with my male Shepard. More of that!



People I absolutely don't want to see back: Jack, Zaeed. Jack didn't make it in my final mission, deliberately. Zaeed can go to hell, that unfeeling SOB.

1. Miranda: shes the bastilia of me2 and such a handy character to have on any mission that i just grew to like her, her conversation options are a little to be desired tho.



2.Zaaed: I notice not many people like this guy but to be honest since getting him and doing his loyalty mission as well as hes general attitude and the way his armor looks cant help but like him.



3. Garrus: my trusty go to guy and him and a sniper rifle hes just to good with it.



4: Thane: really liked this character and id like to know what happens to his son in the future, My playthru i got him working for the C sec Bailey who is also a good minor char.



5:Mordin: The ability to have him research stuff down the road would be my main concern and hes one of the funniest characters in the game bar none.



6:Tali : I dont find her that useful on missions but her past history and the quarians intrigue me so id bring her along.



7: legion : Awesome pure awesome



8: Ashley- Old flame dies hard id bring her as a back up incase Miranda pulls some Morrigan (dragon Age) bull**** and leaves me probably wouldnt use her on mission tho Zaaed is just to badass

Kaidan/Ashley/Liara (Me1 LI's) I think they will all be there. I don't know if they will be able to join up for story purposes but I have a very good feeling we will see them.

1. Garrus- My Sheps lover and bff. (Well my second shepard)
2. Thane- Awesome and Sauve. (Back up Lover from Garrius. Since Garrus is not DYING, ugh bioware, WHY!)
3. Mordin- Best character ever.
4. Legion Or Wrex. Legion is a Geth, Nuff said. Wrex goes way back with Shep! (Might be too busy being Clan leader though)
5.Jacob- Male Sheps Bromance. Jacob is a sweetie. I don't know how he gets mixed up on that ship with so much crazy.

6. Jack- Scared me at first, but I warmed up to her very quickly. She is all talk. A real sweet girl if you treat her with respect that she deserves.
7.Samara or Tali- Samara seems very devoted. Very mature. Tali is a sweet girl and a good friend.
8. New Female. Some one that is not a biotic and overly sexed up with huge boobs.

2. Legion: Working with the Geth? Sweet.

3. Garrus: He's been around since the beginning, just like Tali.

4. Jacob: He reminds me of my own Shepard so he makes a great second-in-command.

5. Ashley: Just to stick it to her for doubting me on Horizon.

One thing you have to remember in a list like this is the perm deaths that may could have possibly happened depending on how you play the game. That is IMO the reason Wrex, Ashly and Kaidan where written out in ME2, so they didn't have to make huge "loyalty" missions for characters that are dead in many people's saves. That and to free up your ability to romance a new member of your crew.

3 on board your ship(if you didn't upgrade) - at least one of these deaths is chosen by the devs. the other two might be random.

2 in final battle depending on how you played it and there loyalty. these two are chosen by you, if you didn't get enough loyalty.

1) Wrex: He's my canon Shepard's best friend. He's loyal, strong, just rough enough around the edges, has a lot of great stories and life experience, and while he has the right goals and a good heart he's not the least bit worried about getting his hands dirty when it's called for.

2) Tali: Smart, clever, truly loyal and in the wake of my canon Shepard's loss of Liara as she's no longer the woman he fell in love with she helped him to see who his heart truly belonged to. From a more practical standpoint, no one on the team knows tech and ships better than her and drones and AI hacking used right make her a viable squad member in the field.

3) Garrus: He's the closest parrallel to my Shepard whether I am paragon or renegade I think. He's loyal and a great friend and his ideals and methods match closely to my canon Shepards (with a couple of exceptions where Garrus might go over the line without me).

4) Mordin: I think he's easily the best developed new character in ME2. I love seeing his inner struggle play out and he's a good friend. Not to mention his scientific expertise is essential for the fight to come.

5) Grunt: No good Krogan abandons their battlemaster unless they're replacing them for weakness. Like someone else said, you're going to need to have some muscle around and he's got loads to spare. Also, he's great to have around to keep my Shepard sharp.

6) Legion: A truly interesting character that we don't get near enough time with to learn about. There's clearly something going on with the armor but Legion doesn't have an answer for us in ME2. He has some strange attraction to Shepard (no, not a romantic one you pervs) that he can't explain and I want to see that explored in full detail.

7) Jack: My Shepard's the first one who's ever done anything for her without asking for anything back. I loved watching their friendship develop and seeing Jack come to terms with her own emotions as she makes her first real friend was awesome for me. Plus, the conversation where she gently let my femShep (my renegade non-canon Shepard) down because she's 'not into the girl's club thing' was truly awesome!! Plus, I need some awesome biotics and only Samara/Morinth are as strong in that category.

8) Thane: Just an awesome character and either a great and imminently tragic love interest for a femShepard or a loyal and true friend for a manShepard.


*9) Captain Kirrahe/Aria/Captain Bailey: Had to be a threeway tie for me. I always liked and respected Kirrahe from ME1 and wanted to work with him on more missions. Aria has this deep mysterious background that is clearly still looming out there in the galaxy and I want to see it play itself out. She's just so intriguing. Captain Bailey... well, I know there's no logical sense why he'd join you but he was my favorite new NPC in ME2 for some reason. I'm sure the voice was a small influence on that (Tye of Battlestar Galactica anyone?) but I genuinely loved his character and the way he handles things.

 In this order:

1. Miranda: I really loved her character, her loyalty mission was great. After going through everything with her, she's hands down my favorite romance option (it doesnt hurt that he's voiced and modeled by the beautiful Yvonne Strahovski)

2. Thane: Another great character. I went into ME2 thinking I'd be relying on Garrus for bromance, but Thane knocked it out of the park for me. As soon as I got him and started talking to him, I made sure he was in my squad with Miranda at all times. I'm really hoping he isnt dead by ME3. Worts case scenario, I'd love to see Kolyat as an alternate.

3. Kal'Reegar: This is a quarian who has great potential for Bro status and badassery. Would be nice to see Tali take care of the Quarian fleet after the death of her father, letting us have Kal as a replacement.

4. Mordin: Again, great character. I never really used him in combat, but having him on board the normandy was great. I always ran to talk with him after every mission. I'm really intrigued to see how the Genophage cure plot works out.

5 and 6. Jacob/ Garrus: Tied for second on the Bro scale. Garrus is a must, and I really warmed up to Jacob.


7.  Kaidan: Another character I got along with in ME, whom I'd like to fight along side with again.

8. Liara: I'd beinterested to see how the new dark and twisted Liara acts on my squad.

8 characters, hmm... Let's start of with the people I think NEED to be in ME3 (and potential spin-offs):

1. Miranda - loved her in ME2. Interesting character, genetically modified femme fatale, great dialogue and an ex-Cerberus, I think that her background missions would be great, with her father and the Illusive Man, all trying to get to her. Oh, and she would be great as Normandy's XO, replacing Pressly. No matter how many romance options they'll give us in ME3, I would be dissatisfied if I couldn't continue my relationship with Miranda. 

2. Garrus - fan favorite, I loved him in the first game, and in the second... Well, let's just say that his "defend the tower" mission was one of my favorites moments in gaming, ever. Archangel FTW!

3. Legion - Shepard's connection to the Geth, a very interesting character with lots of potential, in need of an "whoops, I've just evolved" storyline. Just think of it: what if he evolves on the Normandy, learns emotions, learns how to love, hate, learns what rage is? I'm sold on this idea already.

Who I think would be nice in ME3:

4. Jacob - as someone already said, his "bro" relationship with male Shepard at the end of ME2 is great. I really just wanted to grab a beer with him and talk about war school and oldtime adventures. Would be great if he'd stick by Shepard in ME3 (and if more Shepard/teammates funtime would be possible).

5. Grunt - actually, he died on my first playthrough, but I'm not going leave it at that. He's a great character, his baby-like origins give the writers a lot of space for interesting character progression.

6. Wrex - I think that he'll remain the Urdnot chief, but if he could be back in the time... That would rock. Actually, I think that having both him (master?) and Grunt (Apprentice?) on the Normandy at the same time would seriously rock.

7. Thane - I know he's dying, but he was such a great character... Maybe a cure will be possible? Loved his dialogues and flashbacks, but I seriously DIDN'T like his son. So it's either Thane or no Drell for me.

8. Last but not least... Anderson. He was underplayed in ME2, not really having that much of dialogue, just hanging out on the balcony... But he's still an interesting character. Wouldn't he be better as the "old and wrinkly fighter"-stereotype than Zaeed? He would be a guest on Normandy SR2, but he still would have a lot of authority. Plus, he reminds me of Admiral Adama from BSG, and that is pure win.

On a sidenote: I know a lot of people like them, but I seriously dislike the "adolescent women" characters of ME, notably Liara and Tali. I wouldn't cry if they weren't present in number 3. But that's just opinion.
