Here is a BioWare's in-house concept art image of Tali (and her face) from Mass Effect 1 and four in-game screenshots from Mass Effect 2 of Tali's face.

The in-game screenshots are (as seen) taken with Mass Effect 2 running in low resolution, and due to the awkward screenshot positions Tali's face is not proportionally correct i.e. please do NOT judge her by the screenshots...
Let me explain: Since it's NOT meant that the players shall be able to see any Quarians without helmets in-game we do not know if the faces simply are placeholders or not.
If we do not speak about placeholders then the Quarian's skin (I have inspected many Quarians) are darkblue to near blackish blue. Their eyes shine with a mystic blue light.
Skin and eye colour-wise please look at World of Warcraft's female "Dranei" images to get a overall impression on how the Quarian's look like. The only things that set them apart is the horns, hoes, tail and fingers - else they are cut'n'paste identical *including* the Russian accent voices.

But there's a reason why you aren't supposed to see Tali's face. She doesn't really look like that, nor does any other quarian, the 'face' is just so you can get an idea that she's humanoid from the shadows and highlights barely shown through the mask. Her skin might not even be purple, for all you know, because the purple hue might just be so her face wouldn't clash with the mask color.

I am going to post my own personal opinion here. Feel free to agree or disagree, but here goes. I don't want to see Tali's face. Especially after what you can do in ME2. If they show Tali's face, it defeats her whole purpose as a character. Tali isn't supposed to be beautiful, or sexy. She is supposed to be the shy idependent girl. Bioware wanted your feelings about her to be based off of an emotional aspect, not off of attraction.

Yeah, but if the effort was to make her look simple an plain, they could have given her a less curvaceous body. She may not have a great face, but as it stands, we have to judge her attractiveness based on what we can see, and what we can see is good.
I think Samara was sort of a unique situation. They probably modeled her body and realized that she was looking sexier than they wanted her to, so they just threw on a Conan O' Brien jaw and called it good.

there not russian there middle eastern. more of an idabian like thing. the voice acter for the one girl on the admirty board played alot of opressed women in the middle east in her movies, and even a terrorist on 24 =0, and liz who plays tali is of the cluture. not russian at all.....

I don't disagree, a lot of Tali's appeal is her personality, but I don't think she was designed to be of average attractiveness physically.

Agree with you, from what I can see of her face she looks pretty, none of the other female LI's are just average. as for the men, I'm the wrong guy to ask rofl .
